Marc Summers hosted this program which ran on the History Channel for a few seasons some years back. I suppose it couldn't escape comparisons to 'Jeopardy,' but the two shows really were quite different. Unlike the ABC quiz series, this one focused solely on trivia about the past. However, it was never boring, as it dealt with subjects from the far reaches of ancient times to the presidents of the modern day. It helped if you were into history documentaries, but even if not, you still had a shot if you paid close attention and were quick on your feet. The lightning round was the most exciting, as it came time to choose a champion.
I hope the History Channel gives it a chance again. 'HIQ' was brisk and fun. We need more shows like this.
