History Rocks

Show Summary

History Rocks is an educational TV show, aired on The History Channel. The show discusses eight historical events, arranged by decade- the 1960's, the 1970's and the 1980's. Six episodes were made, two about each decade. History Rocks uses music and pictures to discuss historical events. For instance, in The 1960's episode, discussing Marilyn Monroe's Death, the song "Night's in White Satin" by The Moody Blues is used. When discussing The JFK Conspiracy, the song "I Can See For Miles" by The Who is played. Fast forwarding to the 1970's, "Takin' Care of Business" by Bachman Turner-Overdrive is used when talking about Jimmy Hoffa's Disappearance and "Free Bird" by Lynard Skynard is used to describe the Fall of Saigon. In the 1980's episode, "We're Not Gonna Take It" by Twisted Sister is used when discussing The Berlin Wall and "Should I Stay or Should I Go" by The Clash is used when the volcanic eruption of Mount St. Helens is discussed.
