Historyonics

Show Summary

Historyonics is an off-beat and sometimes hilarious look at some of the great legends of British history. Writer/presenter Nick Knowles guides us through bizarre re-enactments of famous, and not-so-famous, historical turning-points, debunking myths along the way. The antithesis of dry history programmes, the show aims to teach the truth about bygone eras in an entertaining way.

  • History as it was meant to be!

I have long felt that History focused on the wrong things: dates, battles, kings, etc. Most kids will tell you: Boring, Boring, Boring!!!!

What historyonics does it take the lesson out of the classroom and puts it in context with a low-cost cast, inexpensive props and a wonderfully clean and incisive manner of presenting the truth of the facts about each episode.

The whole idea of our narrator being from our time (and knowing what's going to happen) is, as the British would say, brilliant! Our narrator relates with the characters (Mary, Queen of Scots, Julius Caesar, King Harold among others) and allows us to reach out and touch the events almost as if we were there.moreless
