    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (1)

      • The title of this episode is a play on the movie title "Night of the Generals" (1967) starring Peter O' Toole and Omar Sharif. The movie involved a plot to kill Adolf Hitler in 1944.

    • QUOTES (5)

      • LeBeau: Carter, I'll never doubt you again!
        Newkirk: What's the matter?
Carter: (looking at his watch, disappointed) The bombs were one minute late.

      • Hogan: Carter, I want you to start thinking.
Newkirk: Well, we're dead before we start.

      • Hogan: Carter, you're a genius.
Carter: Well, I wouldn't go that far.
Hogan: No, I really mean it. You're a genius.
Carter: Maybe I'd go that far.

      • Klink: Sir, I must apologize, but sometimes they act like little children.
Hogan: Right, but we've got the most wonderful daddy in the whole world.

      • (Klink is reviewing personnel invited to an important party)
Klink: Very impressive list. It doesn't have the name Colonel Klink in there. Probably an oversight at Headquarters.
Burkhalter: I consider it the perfect oversight.

    • NOTES (2)

      • Ben Wright (Gen. Mercer) played another German, Herr Zeller in "The Sound of Music" in which he was a very evil Nazi, the enemy of Captain Von Trapp. Only a couple of years after the movie, he is the Underground contact and the good guy in this episode.

He was not German at all, but was a master of dialects and was very convincing because of this.

      • Though it is detailed as appearing last, this episode appears second on the VHS collection's "Bombs Away" volume.
