  • Hogan's plan to help a Baroness escape Germany is interrupted when Colonel Klink brings in British Colonel Crittendon, who is unaware of Hogan's setup, to be the senior prisioner of war for Stalag 13.

Despite the fact that I find Colonel Crittendon to be nothing more than annoying, the overall episode works well playing Colonel Crittendon's stuffy by the book way of running things with Hogan's, play it by ear, operation. As annoying as Bernard Fox is, the episode is still on par with many others as Hogan and his men not only try and come up with another crazy scheme to get a German Baroness out of Germany and back to London, but to keep Colonel Crittendon oblivious to the operation being run out of Barracks 3. In this episode Colonel Klink shows a rare display of his secret affection for his secretary Helga when he briefly serenades her with his violin playing Wagner's, Ride of The Valkyries.

In the end, Klink's plan fails as Colonel Crittendon bungles repeated attempts to escape bringing unwanted attention and stress to Klink and in the end he relents and ships Crittendon back to his former camp.
