"The Meister Spy" contains many, if not all, of the elements which made "Hogan's Heroes" remarkable:
-Hogan and Newkirk impersonate ranking Nazi officers
-Carter chillingly plays Hitler as a ranting madman who gets results from Germans through blind fear
-Schultz unwittingly comes within seconds of ruining the prisoners' entire plan
-Klink is a bootlicking imbecile
-A double agent is exposed and tricked into revealing top-secret information
-Hogan finds time to flirt with a pretty girl
This episode proves that the ingenuity in writing and production did not stop or even slow in the series' later years. This brilliance and excellence of execution is truly exactly why I watch this show.
