  • This episode was an absolutely tearjeaker and probably one of the best episodes of Holby City so far.

The episode \\\'Moondance\\\' is the conclusion to the storyline invovling the character of Gina Hope\\\'s decision to go to a clinic in Switzerland to end her life. The subject of Euthanasia was protrayed in a sensitive manner making it easy to see the reasoning behind the decsion of the character. Paul Bradley and Gillian Bevan were absolutely amazing in this episode as Elliot and Gina Hope. The two had a great on-screen chemistry and it was easy to believe that the two are husband and wife. The scene were Elliot helps Gina to die was brilliantly done especially as Paul Bradley is heard singing \\\'Moondance\\\' in the background.

Amanda Mealing as Connie Beauchamp was also fabulous in this episode. It was interesting to see how this strong character dealt with being placed in the position of having to help a friend, and wife of a colleague, to end her life. The scenes set in the Holby City were also excellent, particularly the long shot in which Martin Hancock, as Reg Lund, and Scott Adkins, as Bradley Hume, were seen going up the stairs and talking. Hopefully the continuation of the euthanasia storyline will be to the same high standard of this episode.moreless
