Hole In The Wall (UK)

Show Summary

Dale Winton hosts this game show where two teams of celebrities, captained by Darren Gough and Anton Du Beke, attempt to squeeze through the shapes made in a moving 'hole in the wall'. If they fail to complete the move in time, they end up in a pool of water. As the show progresses the wall shapes become harder and move faster. The winning team who create the most correct shapes win £10,000 for the charity of their choice. Despite being a ratings winner and surprise hit the series wasn't renewed for a third series.

  • Celebrities forming shapes the get through a polystyrene wall... BRILLIANT

    8.0
Hole in the Wall is amazing. This is how it works. A polystyrene is moving towards contestants at speed. If the contestant(s) get(s) through the wall they win points. If they don't they fall into a pool. There are 5 rounds of walls with increrasing difficulty starting off with solo wall (1 player worth 10 points.). Next is captain's mate (captain + team mate, sometimes someone is blindfolded. Worth 20 points) and then team wall (whole team worth 30 points.). Then are my 2 favourite rounds. wonder wall where they have to answer a question on the wall then Anton's twist. A wall comes as normal but there is a twist. Sometimes the audience have to make the shape or the other team pelts them with balls. It is amazing. Then comes the final. The great Wall (dong). The team with most points chooses weather to play or pass. Sometimes it is easy and sometimes it is hard. If the team decides to play then if they win it, they gets to choose where some money goes for charity. If they lose it the other team gets the money. So Hole in the Wall is the funniest game show. ANd if you don't agree with me then you are crazy. Even though the theme music sucks.moreless
  • How many times do you want to watch someone get into a stupid position and fall into the water. I'm guessing three maybe four times at the most.

    2.0
The whole premise of this show is the contestants stand beside a small swimming pool. A large polystyrene wall with a silly body position cut out starts approaching them quite quickly. They need to get into the shape cut out on the wall so the wall will bypass them. If they do not do this in time the wall will then force then to fall into the swimming pool...... and that is pretty much it. I tried to like this show, I really did, but after watching someone stand like a chicken, or an ancient egyptian before being (usually) pushed into the pool by the wall. It's gets boring very quickly, and although the format sounds like a good idea, in practise it's just not. Do yourself a favour and visit the dentist instead, it will ultimately be more rewarding.moreless
