  • R.I.P. Robert Graves

I was so saddened to hear at the end of this episode that Robert Graves had passed away at such a young age. He seemed like such a nice man and had worked so hard with Mike to help out so many people who had found themselves in desperate situations. Every time I watched an episode of "Holmes on Homes" or "Holmes Inspection" and saw that Mike had a concern with someone's roof, I thought "Here comes Robert and Steven -- they'll take care of that quickly enough." The world was a better place for his being in it and I'm sure all of the people he helped will hold a special place for him in their hearts.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. God bless him.moreless

    • Mike Holmes: I've had the opportunity to meet a lot of good people. Robert Graves...he's done well over 50 shows with me and he never, ever ask for anything. He just got in there; jumped in there and helped the people that were in trouble. But this guy never asked for anything. All he did was just get up there and do it. He would bring his sons in, Steve and Mike, and his whole crew and just make things right. After filming so many shows with Rob, he actually became a close personal friend of mine -- fishing, having fun together. The man played hard, he worked hard, that's for sure....We're gonna miss him.

    • Damon Bennett: Can I pick some new colors for this place?
Mike Holmes: I have full faith in you, man. You can do pretty much what you want to do. You're in control.
Damon Bennett: Thank God. Because the colors in this house...that's one thing the inspector SHOULD have caught.
      (Mike Holmes laughing hysterically)

    • Mike Holmes: (as Mike brings Damon to the house to show him the issues he's discovered so far that need repairing) I'm just gonna take you upstairs and show you a few things. I'm gonna apologize now to you...
Damon Bennett: Ah, ha ha ha! That's a bad way to start our conversation!

    • Mike Holmes: (after noticing a live receptacle along the floor less than two feet from a bathtub) The possiblity that my children, or any children at all, were harmed due to absolute stupidity is unacceptable. But even more unacceptable is that this was NOT...IN...THE REPORT!

  • NOTES (1)

    • At the end of this episode, Mike Holmes memorialized Robert Graves, a roofing contractor he worked with closely throughout his career and his personal friend. Robert passed away on September 17 2009.
