    • TRIVIA (2)

      • Mike Holmes and Shawn Morren have a "Trim off" contest in this episode. They both have to install the trim around a window properly in the quickest possible time. Benjamin Green, Damon Bennett and Desmond Hamlyn were the judges. It was close, but Mike won with a slightly quicker time and cleaner nailing job.

      • The mould specialist, Steve Booth, made it clear that in order for mould to reach levels dangerous enough to be potentially fatal, the visible signs of mould infestation would be unmistakable (imagine a tomato sitting in the sun for 2 months and then having that kind of growth all over the walls). The homeowner or tennant would have ample warning that there is a serious problem.

    • QUOTES (2)

      • Mike Holmes: Is mould gonna make you sick? What does it actually do?
Steve Booth: Well, really, there are three areas of health effects. There are potentially toxic effects; there are allergic reations effect and there are infectious properties. Usually, the most serious effects are the allergic properties; the agravation of asthema, the sneezing, the runny nose, the coughing, the wheezing. Those kind of things.

      • Mike Holmes: What we have is wood windows...NOT maintained over the years. Water on the windows allowed the water to come in, so everyone in the started to get sick.
