  • Excellent Episode and very well written

Great episode, well written and very sad

I thought all the actors involved did an amazing job especially Kate Ritchie and Ray Meagher.

I also though that the previous episode was just as wonderful and sad as this one.

I will always remember this episode as an all time favourite and will miss Sally Fletcher and Kate

It was a great way to farewell Sally/Kate after 20 years without all the drama and sadness.

The storylines leading up to the final scenes were fantastic, my favourite being the story line involoving Milco.

    All around an excellent episode

All the best for the future Kate, Goodbye Kate

    Hope you return soonmoreless
  • OMG! Kate Ritchie and Sally Fletcher... gone forever.

OMG! I can't beleive she's gone. I'll miss her so much. My friend and I were on the phone while the ep was on but we were crying to hard to talk. We wore black. The next day at school we started crying when we tryed to talk about it. It was the perfect way to send Sally/Kate off. I knew that Alf would be the person she'd be in her last scene with.

Alf: Sal, Could you do me a favour?

    Sally: Of course.

Alf: Call me Alf just this once.

Sally: You'll always be Mr Stewart to me, Alf.

It was the perfect way to say goodbye.

    20 years in summer bay

    20 years on H&A

    From '87 to '08

We will always love Sally & Katemoreless
  • 20 great years, It's time to say goodbye to Sally Fletcher.

By far the saddest ending of an character for H&a.

I cried so much while I watched it, It was a send off such a lovable character. My highlights were two scene's in the episode, One was when Sally said goodbye to Miles(Her twin brother) and the end of the episode when the said goodbye to alf.

Heres an article to fir the word count thing-

After two decades watching a little girl mature into a vibrant, beautiful young woman, it's not difficult to understand why the departure of Sally Fletcher (Kate Ritchie) from Summer Bay has affected so many people in profound and unexpected ways. Her enduring popularity speaks both to the effervescence Ritchie brought to the role and the powerful intimacy of television as a medium. To say we have welcomed Sally into our homes every night for 20 years is no understatement. Indeed, for a generation of Australian TV viewers, Sally is as ubiquitous as iPods, mobile phones and Home And Away itself.

It is a fitting testament to Ritchie's consistently strong performance that her departure will be felt profoundly for some time to come. Far from being simply a former child now grown up, she has matured into one of the integral pieces of the show's dramatic jigsaw. To some extent, though, the blow is softened by the timely arrival of her estranged twin, Miles (Josh Quong Tart), a tender baton change that evokes memories of the iconic '80s soap Sons And Daughters and allows the pair to share some tender scenes.

"This has been my home for such a long time," Sally says. The moment is powerful - not just because the medium and genre tap the audience's emotions with disturbing brilliance but because in truth it's difficult to know absolutely whether the tears are the character's, the actress's, or both. Much-loved television programs lose much-loved characters with enough frequency that this should be par for the course but this departure is a bittersweet one. We wish her well, but we know Summer Bay's rainbow will lose a little of its sparkle when she is gone.moreless
