Episode Summary

EDIT
At Sea
AIRED:
Jill finds Brad making out with his girlfriend in his room. When Jill asks Tim to have a man-to-man talk with Brad, Tim is a little reluctant to do it. Not because he doesn't feel Brad needs it, but because it's something he's never done before with a kid. Tool Time goes to sea in another on-location shoot, with Tim, Al and Heidi boarding the USS Constellation aircraft carrier as part of their salute to engines.moreless

  • It was good at first, but became boring after the first commercial break (although it later became good again! :D).

    8.9
In the season six opener, Tool Time is going on a navy ship to test out the tools located onto there, and high school is just around the corner for Brad. The parts on the ship made me laugh very hard, espeially when Al was covered in bubbles after an accident caused by Tim. After the first day of high school, Jill catches Brad making out with Angela in his room, thinking he is having sex. This was the most hilarious part in the episode, Jill calls Tim to tell him about this, and when the leader tells Tim not to pull the ship lever that causes more power to happen, he screamed "Sex?!" as he pulled the lever! ROTFL! After the first commericial break, the episode started to become boring. Although it did become better at the end when Wilson admired his yams, and when Tim tried to tell to Brad sex was wrong but kept on failing, as well as Tim compare sex to a car, and when the army troops gave comments on Heidi being pregnat at the end. LOL! This episode was a hilarious season start to me.

    FINAL GRADE: B+moreless
  • This is a sweet episode.

    9.4
    This episode is really funny.

Tim gets to go to the sea with the Navy with Tool Time. They get a tour of huge ship. Meanwhile Jill is getting worried about Brad having sex with Angela. On the boat, Tim presses a bunch of buttons, but they turned off all of the weapons when they heard Tim was coming. He soakes Al with soap by presses the wash button by mistake. Back at the house, Jill walks in on Brad and Angela making out in his room. Brad gets mad and he says "You think I'm going to talk to you about my sex life". Jill is shocked. She calls Tim and he comes home to talk to Brad. All Tim says is "If you have any questions then just holler". He talks to Wilson about it and Wilson says that he should talk to Brad about sex again. He does. He compares sex to a car. Then Tim tells Brad about when he had sex. Brad admits that he's not having sex. Tim is happy.

    I give this episode a 9.4 out of 10.moreless

  • QUOTES (16)

    • Randy: Don't take this Brad thing out on me. I haven't even had a girl in my room yet.
      Jill: YET?
      Randy: I gotta go.

    • Jill: I'm so glad you're home!
Tim: Not as glad as the Navy.

    • Brad (correcting Angela's Spanish): You just said, "Let's go upstairs and check the dictionary on my gall bladder."

    • (Jill buys Mark school supplies)
Jill: Is there anything else you need?
Mark: Yeah, someone to go and pretend they're me.
Jill: Randy, you must be looking forward to starting high school.
Randy: Yeah, this sleeping in late and having fun all day is really getting on my nerves.

    • (Discussing how to have the sex talk with Brad)
Jill: Talk to him about maturity, responsibility and safety.
Tim: Maturity, responsibility, and safety. Are you sure I'm the right person for this?

    • Brad (correcting Angela's Spanish): I think you just said, "The library is between the church and the meatballs."

    • Al: As a former Seabee, I always like to keep my oars in the water.
Tim (to Captain Jenkins): He was stationed in Nevada! The closest he got to the water was the fountain at Caesar's Palace!

    • (Tim presses a button and alarms go off)
Captain Jenkins: Tim, you just declared war on Finland!

    • Brad: Well, when am I gonna find out whether I'm a man or not?
Tim: Your mom and I are gonna tell you!

    • (Tim is trying to explain sex to Brad)
Tim: Sex is, um... it's like a car. The best idea is to keep the car in your garage for a LONG, LONG, LONG time. And then, somewhere in the future, the distant future, when that garage door opens, you gotta think... car cover.

    • Randy: I'm going to Peter's house after school.
      Jill: Estimated time of return?
      Randy: Around 5:30.
      Jill: Reason for visit?
      Randy: Gambling and devil worship.

    • (Al walks in, covered in soap and bubbles)
Al (angry): Did you start the engine segment without me?
Tim: Yes. I'm sorry to burst your bubble.

    • Tim: We have some exciting news. Someone on the show is pregnant! Al, when are you expecting it?

    • Brad: Hey Dad, do we still have a Navy?
Tim: You do, I'm not sure they'd defend me at this point.

    • Tim: Right behind me is the Navy's toughest fighter, the F-15.
Al: Actually Tim, it's the F-18.
      Tim: 18, 15, it's a number isn't it?

    • Sign on the USS Constellation: Beware of jet blast, propellers, and Tim.

  • NOTES (1)

    • In this episode, we learn that Heidi is pregnant. The writers had to write this into the storyline because Debbe Dunning was pregnant in real life.
