Who thinks this may have caught on? I actually think spinoffs, if written well, can work -- and I think it could have with Al. Maybe not but now that we're at the 10th anniversary and as I've watched the DVD's, I've thought of this idea.

I don't think Al is popular enough in rl (despite his apparent popularity with the 'Tool Time' fans) to be the star of his own sitcom. As great as he was, he's just not... 'THAT' great. They'd have been better off doing some spinoff with Brad at college - but that'll never happen as it's just too late. In all retrospect, if they had a spinoff, one of the Taylor's would have starred in it.

I like Al but i don't think he has what it takes to star in his own show.

Al was funny but in an akward way I don't think he would've been able to carry his own show.

Al's personal life was too dull for a show to revolve around. He had an overweight mother that we never saw, a boring girlfriend, no kids...I don't know how many more work related stories they could have come up with to have enough material for a new show.

When I was a pre-teen I would have killed for a spin off with Randy in Africa, lol. (It was Africa that he went off to, right? It's been so long since I've seen those episodes.)

It was Costa Rica. That's South America, not Africa.

I wasn't implying that Costa Rica was in Africa. I couldn't remember what country he went to and thought he went somewhere in Africa.
