  • Tim has plans to go to the airshow with Mark, but injures himself lifting up a vice as a trophy for setting the consecutive cable tool show appearances record. After surgery, he reinjures himself on the record breaking show, and can't go with Mark.moreless

Although it has its funny moments, this episode is indicative of Home Improvement beginning to jump the shark. The poor decisions Tim makes are painful to watch, and Tim's hallucinations are just plain creepy. Also, this episode along with the episode where Mark first takes karate, show a lack of realism and inconsistency with other episodes. Combined with the episode where Tim scalps Red Wings tickets, the Detroit showin in "Home Improvement" is portrayed as one where scalping is a crime, but, based on what the viewer sees, Tim being physically assaulted(albeit comedically) by Gary's(in the Tool Time record episode) and the karate doughboy's fathers is acceptable. Though one can suppose that the doughboy's father and Gary's father are punished, but that it is not pertinent to the episodes.moreless
  • Tim lets his ego get the better of him and faces the consequences.

This is just one of those episodes when you want to slap Tim for being such an idiot. I understand him wanting to break Bob Vila's record, but when he sneaked out of the hospital, he should have just appeared on Tool Time and called it good. Then he could've sneaked back and gotten busted and it still would've been funny. Instead, he re-separates his shoulder.

Also, what moron would let their kid play out in the driveway while there was large machines working nearby? That kid deserved to have his remote control car broken. The dad should have beat up his stupid son instead of Tim.

Overall, still a really good episode with a lot of laughs. Love the hallucinations with Wilson at the hospital.moreless
