- In "the party" Fenton was mean to his mother and everyone and his mom never did anything about it. In this one he's afraid to get in trouble. Response: That is because near the end of "The Party" when Coach McGuirk saw how Fenton was behaving, McGuirk yelled at him and made him apologize to his mother. So now, Fenton obeys his mother.

- Fenton's character has changed from "The Party". In "The Party", he was a spoiled brat who was mean to his mother. In "Shore Leave", he is an overly obedient creepy kid. I guess that McGuirk set him straight.

- The Fairy Princess camp affects Melissa subconciously without anyone really noticing. In later episodes, we see her as a princess several times and, in the case of "Focus Grill", starts wearing cosmetics regularly. In the previous two seasons, we barely see any of this side of her.

- After this episode aired, someone registered the domain name of http://www.fentonsnakedmom.com, one of the websites McGuirk tried to register. Check it out. There's no porn on it or anything. Its somewhat amusing.

- This episode seems to disprove the previous theory that Perry and Walter are gay, as they are among the boys vying for a chance to have a sleepover with Fenton in hopes of seeing his mother naked.

- The Blair Witch Project: Brendon talking into his camera in the closet is a reference to the movie, "The Blair Witch Project". Both monologues are shot from a low angle while the character does not know if he or she will survive.
