When Diane reads the translation of the magic tablet, she utters the phrase "Klatu Barata Nicto", which causes her to be possessed by the evil spirit. This same phrase was used in the above-titled 1959 Disney movie, which caused Wilby Daniels (Tommy Kirk) to change into a dog after coming into possession of a magic ring.
