Was he ever on the show? I remember him being on it but I was young and my memory may be filling in stuff I from elsewhere. Anyone know?

okay i guess i could've picked something stupider to ask, but i'd have had to work hard. NO, he was boycotted, as the summary (and anyone with a REAL memory) clearly says. so now i have to ask myself what am i remembering? i was 11 when this show came on the air, not a baby or anything. i'd seen pete seeger in concert with my folks, i had his records... why do i remember his being on the show when he clearly wasn't, and why don't i remember anything about the blacklist as it pertains to this show when i very much remember as it pertains to so many other things? no one can answer that for me, alas. but maybe someone can tell me if and when seeger appeared on tv, around then, that i might be remembering and transferring to this innocent-seeming show.

Pete Seeger never appearewd on any of the Hootenanny episodes as ABC blacklisted him because of his far left political views during the days of the "communist" scare. He should have been allowed and invited and encouraged to be on the show, as he is a folk icon and still performing in 2007!!
