Hope & Faith

It's Christmas time... there's no need to be afraid... unless you live with the Shanowskis. Hope is organising a Christmas party, with military precision, when Faith interuppts. She's brought her gifts early (so the others can buy her gifts of equal or greater value). As they open the gifts, it becomes clear that Faith has, for once, though about other people. Finally, it is Charley's turn to open his present; to everyone's surprise, he pulls a gold Rolex watch out of the wrapping paper. After the shock of Faith's great gift, they go back to getting ready for the Christmas party. Just before they leave, Charley realises that he doesn't have a present for his assisstant, Hassan. Hope suggests that he gives Hassan his old basketball championship watch, but Charley refuses. However, later at the party, when Hassan appears with a handmade vase for him, Charley relents and gives Hassan the watch. Hassan is overjoyed.
Next day, Charley enters, looking very angry. He had just been to see the jeweller about changing the battery in the Rolex. Apparently, the jeweller "laughed so hard his monacle fell out and broke". Yes, the watch is a fake. Hope is devastated, and so is Charley. Hope decides to get Charley's old watch back from Hassan and insists that Faith comes to help. Faith is well prepared; "I've put on my gel boobs, I'll let him cop a feel, you grab the watch and then we're outta here!". But Hope takes a different approach. She explains that she needs the watch back, but will give Hassan a "beautiful engraved fountain pen" instead. Hassan agrees and calls his son, Hassan Jr, who comes in wearing the watch and limping on a Tiny-Tim crutch. He puts on a sad face and Hope is guilt-tripped into letting Hassan keep the watch. And the fountain pen, as "there's not many Hassans in Glen Falls". They leave and Hassan turns to Tiny-Tim and tells him to stop practising and get ready to school, ready to perform in "A Christmas Carol". Hassan Jr puts down the crutch and runs upstairs.
Back at the Shanowski household, everyone is waiting for Faith. She comes in and gives Charley a watch, which he immediately assumes is a fake. Faith admits to selling her Emmy to get the money for a real watch. Everyone realises that Faith is really a good person who made a mistake. "Christmas cheer throughout the Shanowski household - check!"
