In this installment, Charles McGraw (the gladiator trainer in "Spartacus") is Martin Wood, a man invited by Sundance to act as Sheriff of Georgetown after Wood helps him in a gun battle with hotel bill jumpers. Sundance soon regrets it when the new sheriff seizes all guns, even by those whose profession require them. When an old coot starts breaking things in the saloon, which he did almost as a tradition in Georgetown, and which no one seemed to mind, Wood fatally shoots him, no questions asked, leaving a grieving widow. Then, when Wood kills a stagehand for refusing to turn in his gun, Sundance knows it's time to take matters into his own hands. If you've seen Gunsmoke episode "The Tarnished Badge", which aired about fifteen years later, you'll see the similarities, which I would venture to say are not coincidental, especially the climactic ending.moreless
