At the Periwinkle Inn, the owner's insistence on doing things the traditional way gets in the way of Anthony trying to get the hotel out of the red. He turns to the owner's children for help and tries to convince the family that it might be time for their mother to step down.

Stuck on doing things HER way......

I love this show and think Anthony is a genius, but this was my least favorite episode ever. This family was only receptive to changes that allowed them to receive goods and service, not be sincerely open to any changes in how they are going to operate. These people were - and still seem to be - operating a property like hotels were run 50 years ago! The daughter as the marketing person? Seems like before asking for help, she would have done her homework and been able to tell Anthony SOMETHING about their occupancy and rate history! What did she do all day on that computer other than write that 'jingle'?? No wonder they have been in the red! The son showed some promise but the two women in the family seem quite insistent about doing things their way. According to a Trip Advisor review from YESTERDAY, this family is still insisting on cash payment from their guests. I like to see endings where the people are sincere in applying what they've learned to become more successful.moreless

It was obvious that the only reason the Periwinkle contacted Hotel Impossible to be on the show was so that they could receive freebies, which they did. I hope this is not the direction where the show is heading this season.
