House Of Hits

Show Summary

House Of Hits is a musical series that originally aired in 1999 on Network Ten, a commercial television station in Australia. The series, which premiered on February 5, 1999 in the 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm Saturday time slot, consists primarily of new music videos, usually from Australian artists. The episodes have a news magazine format where two hosts introduce the videos and provide commentary on the videos. House of Hits uses a countdown formula to play the videos in increasing order of popularity, such that the most popular video for that week appears last. The director of the series is Simon Francis. The hosts of the series are Ian 'Molly' Meldrum and Leah McLeod. Meldrum is a popular music critic in Australia who is best known as the host of Countdown, a similar music series that ran from 1974 to 1987. House of Hits is the first regular appearance on television for McLeod, who goes on to host many other television series.
