8/20/082003: The US launch an attack on Iraq and the family are forced to flee the palace. Saddam's first wife, Sajida and her daughters and grandchildren go to Jordan where they watch the manhunt for Saddam and his sons on television. Uday and Qusay, Saddam's second son, go on the run whilst Saddam flees to a rural shack just outside his hometown of Tikrit where he remains until the US army close in on him.moreless

8/13/081995: Iraq has barely survived the Gulf War, but Saddam doesn't seem to notice. Hussein Kamal, Saddam's closest ally and son-in-law is locked in a bitter rivalry until Hussein Kamal leaves Iraq and seeks refuge in Jordan where he attempts to make an alliance with the US.
8/6/081988: Saddam's eldest son, Uday rages out of control and Saddam is forced to discipline him after a particularly violent incident. Saddam's first wife, Sajida learns that he has married his mistress Samira which puts her brother in an awkward and dangerous position.

7/30/081979: Saddam Hussein takes control of Iraq and dispatches some of his enemies- and friends. He sets his eyes on a married school teacher and launches war on Iran.
