This twist was good, but unrealistic.

I love the show very much, and my husband and I are faithful watchers. I feel, the fact that they made it seem that Vicodin can make you have hallucinations if taking too much, is so unrealistic. My husband takes two even stronger medication than Vicodin, he has been for over 4 years. He has never had a side effect that has made him have hallucinations or anything like this ever. I think that they took this addiction just a little too far. People with severe chronic pain do have to take something to make it through their day. I was very dissapointed that they could not come up with a much better ending for the season than this.moreless

An epic finale resulting from a story arc than actually saved a rather dull season.

At the beginning of Season 4, the writers kinda tried a reboot, phasing out part of the original cast to make place for a new team for house. Too bad the newbies are simply dull characters than hurt more than helps the show. As a result, Season 4 ended up being a rather meh season that was saved by an absolutely unforgettable two parts finale. While season 4 was the season with way too much characters, Season 5 had less of them but they still had difficulties to accommodate for everyone. Before coming to this finale, let`s take a look at the season as a whole.

Last season`s finale was heavy in consequences, basically ending the friendship between House an Wilson. It didn`t last long but was well played out. Unfortunately most of the season was rather meh... they had the terrible terrible idea of having 13(the character) centric episodes...among the newbies, she is the worst(tho hot) and continuously forcing her on the audience will not help. Most of the season left me rather unsatisfied, the first 3 seasons had quite some fillers but the supporting cast was strong enough to cope for it, clearly this is no longer the case. They killed Kutney but he was too much of an indifferent character for his death to make a major impact (tho they did used it well)...and his death made no sense(I understand he had to work for Obama so I guess they tried their best). Make no mistake about it, this season still had some great episodes but most of which came in months of intervals. Anyway after an average run, things finally picked for the last 4-5 episodes where they brought the House hallucinating story arc that brought some stellar episodes, including this epic finale. This closing arc saves the season.

So that finale. Brilliant from start to finish. Well developed with some classic House-Wilson-Cudy interactions before unveiling a bang in the first, shocking twist that had my jaw dropped down....absolutely terrific writing. Dr House remains fresh even after 5 season...he is too much of a gray character to be worn out. The events of this finale brings a new dimension to the Dr.House story. The closing sequence was perfectly shot..great directing. Cameron-Chase getting married was nice, I like both of the characters..too bad that tho listed as regulars they`ve basically become recurring now.

This finale will rank among the best episodes of the show. Well done.moreless

Don't get me wrong, this was a fun episode for what it was, but by no means was it a blowaway show or "the most shocking episode ever". House in rehab will not last too long so there is no reason to get a bee in your bonnet over that. Interesting? Yes. Intriguing? Yes. But shocking? Nah, because I think we all sensed this was coming.

I am glad they did not make a big deal out of the wedding. I'm all for Cameron getting more screen time, but Chase and her have really been phased out of the series so I have learned not to invest too much in their characters. After all, we have to make room for Taub.

Kal Penn returning was a fun treat as well, but this did not live up to the hype.moreless

Keep the actors, lose the writers...

Apparently, Bryan Singer now thinks he's M. Knight Shyamalan. ("OMG, House sees dead people! Twist ending! We'll use a Vicodin bottle in a creepy way!")

A crappy season finale for what used to be a good show. The acting's still superior, but the stories have gotten lamer and lamer. Originally, the program was about a brilliant misanthrope who just barely tolerated a few people--Wilson, his team, and sometimes Cuddy. He avoided people whenever possible. Now he's a sadist who seeks people out so that he can make them miserable. And the 'soap opera' element has grown as well. By the end of next season, the writers'll be using the "whole season was a dream" cop-out from "Dallas."

Or maybe not. I won't know, because I'm not going to bother to watch anymore.moreless

WOW alright, that episode made me laugh and made me bang the table shouting more more more. You see a different side of house at the end a side that goes NOOOOO that's not house, and an other side that kinda make u think wow maybe house isn't all that bad. and to top it off they have renewed for a 6th season how can they possible bring it back after that ending??!! it is season finale like that they will make u watch the next season and make you go to work the next day and go OMG did you watch house or whatever show your watching. Fantastic episode and fantastic cliff hanger. house you my hero.moreless
