    • House: It's people like this who killed Copernicus. Judge: Galileo. Nicolas Copernicus came up with the theory that the earth is not the center of the universe but the sun is. Gailieo invented the telescope, in 1609, and proved Copernicus right, which went against the Roman Catholic Church. Galileo was subpoena by Inquisition in Rome, in 1633, where he was made to renounce all his beliefs and writings supporting the Copernican theory.
    • Dr. Wilson: Beckett was going to call his play Waiting for House's Approval but thought it was too grim. Alluding to Samuel Beckett's 1952 play Waiting for Godot, where several men, apparent survivors of war, wait for Godot to arrive.
    • House: A simple procedure turns a little girl into The English Patient. What gives? Referencing the 1996 movie starring Ralph Fiennes as a badly-burned patient plane crash victim and his memories of a love affair.
    • House: It's never lupus. Referencing the Season 2 House DVD extra creatively titled "it could be lupus," in turn based on the disease often miscited as what's responsible for a patient's problems on the show.
    • Wilson: I'm going to need 30 pieces of silver. This line and the title of the episode are references to Judas, who received 30 pieces of silver in exchange for betraying Jesus to the Roman legionnaires.
