Well, I gotta say it was another fabulous episode. It was the kind of medical mystery we were missing, and the fact that it was not technically a patient was brilliant. I loved it that Wilson played a bigger role in here, and that he actually made House suffer a little for once. He needed to know he did wrong, he had to fight and take chances not only for the patient, but to save their friendship. I found the song scene incredibly funny, and even as Wilson tried hard to stay mad at him, he knows they can overcome anything. Foreman as the Dean of Medicine is a good change for me, he was always more administrative than hands-on kind of guy, love it that they gave the hospital a new style, it's really been a year and many things have changed, but we needed someone who knew House and who would not be fooled by his brilliant mind and be allowed to go crazy in and out of the hospital. The Dr. Chi story was not that fascinating but she played her part in a great way, kept a lot to herself, quiet, might say repressed but with a fighting spirit, not enabling House in the least, a perfect moment when she didn't help him at all to steal Dr. Pinto's chair. She will stand her ground, hopefully she will become a stronger character so she can stay.

We did notice he needs a team, this new girl can't figure out his metaphors too well and that took time from the diagnosis in the end, hopefully Chase, Thirteen and... well, even Taub can come back (though, if we have to endure his marriage issues for another season, I'll kill myself, no matter how many "My heart will go on" kinda moments we get)

So, all in all I freakin loved it. May we get lots of strange dramatic cases, real challenges, the team working together to fix things and not so much on their own personal drama, and more House & Wilson friendship angsty and funny moments to go by. That made the first 5 seasons so successful, and perfect for me.

A couple of things about the episode. 1) The first 30 seconds of the new girl, I was determined to dislike her and I did. After that, I thought she was a great addition. The funny thing is she has the most potential to be House's favorite protege. 2) I couldn't stop laughing when Wilson decked House. You could see it coming but it was still hilarious.

    * yeah, the full details of cuddy's departure, and lisa's departure, remain a mystery, huh?

    * if celine dion can't salvage a bromance, no one can

Am I the only one who doesn't like the new girl? She annoys me SO MUCH. First of all, she looks and acts like she's 14 years old, and I'm supposed to believe she's a doctor?! And then there's the way she talks, her speech is so slurred that I had trouble understanding what she was saying half of the time. Especially the medical terms, sometimes it seemed as if she didn't even know what she was saying and just mumbling stuff...

I agree with kateyz, I didn't like the new girl very much. I can understand her looking young, since I'd assume she's still a student doing her internship. But I found her voice very whiny and irritating. She might improve if she gains a little more confidence as the season goes on though. Although I didn't find her speech slurred or any of that.

The new girl is such a cartoon character that my opinion of the show has plummeted 1000 points. All I saw was Velma from Scooby Doo.

She's also a blatant stereotype. I mean, what's the deal with the obviously fake, ultra sculptured bob and bangs (that's definitely not her real hair, obviously a wig)? I know Asians have a particular "style", but c'mon-- that look is so stereotypical and dated. Why not just slap a pair of buck teeth on the actress and call it a day? I really hope there's a point to that wig (like halfway through the season she'll turn into a sexpot or something). But if they're slapping a wig on her to make her embody an Asian character, then sorry, once again, my respect has plummeted for this show, because they could've easily just had her with her real hair and still play whatever weird, quirky character she's trying to be.

I enjoyed this episode. I liked the new girl. Still wondering where the rest of the gang is, though. Foreman as the new Dean of Medicine. Well....almost hard to believe that he'd get that job, but it'll be interesting none the less. Wilson decking House. Funny, you could almost see it coming.

I liked the fact that it's not focusing on House/Cuddy romance, like last season. That almost killed the show for me, but I stuck it through. Glad I did. This season is going to be quite interesting.

Wow, you and I must have been watching different shows. About the only thing we agree upon is that an episode of House did air last night.

I've always loved the show, but I felt that last night's offering was...quite simply the worst one I've ever seen. I hated almost every thing about it.

I totally agree. She's HORRIBLE. I can't believe anyone ever hired her. I thought for awhile maybe she was an intern on the set or something. I mean, don't they teach actors how to speak CLEARLY.

She also never seemed to understand her dialogue, I agree with you there. She just seemed clueless and yet House "really respected" her, according to Foreman, I think. By this time in the show I had lost all interest in the entire show.

I actually quite liked this episode. Loved the interactions between Wilson and House. The part with House playing Celine Dion's song was hilarious and the end with the punch was predictable yet I loved it.
The new girl is okay I guess...I don't hate her as much as other people have written in their reviews. Whats going to be the team this season? And foreman was okay..the same he's been in all seasons, but it is surprising to learn that he is new dean. I still love this show. So can't wait for the next episode

    Oh, woh..... yeah....

I can see the producers of House is working to revolute the show.

Dr. Poh looked a little clumsy.

Right now Foreman has two choices: either work hard to be a more able, more determined Dean (he is not able by now),
or return to House's team and face his destiny. :-))))

at first i thought she was gonna look diffreent and when i realized it was the girl from knocked up i was like omg lame. And i saw she was so timid and i thought she was going to be like amber tamblyn so meek and always look like she is going to pass out from fear. BUT then i actually watched her and she has a spark about her that makes me want to watch her. And if you really dont like the girl watch her on conan

I was like a few other commenters where I though I would hate the new girl but ended thinking she was OK by the end, unlike Masters who was instantly grating.
I thought Wilson should have made House wait longer before getting back together - it seemed that was just fast tracked in but I guess that was done at the beginning of Season 5 so they probably dont want to repeat that.
I think this season has the potential to be pretty great, 13 not in many episodes is disapointing, but House winding up Foreman is always funny, and probably taub and chase will rejoin the team.

I must say that I really enjoyed this episode. Is it safe to assume that Taub was on maternity leave? I hope Taub returns to House's team for no other reason that to hear House make comments about his "situation". I really didn't expect to like the new girl as much as I did. Clearly, House is having a somewhat positive influence on her aside from telling her to embrace her inner b---h. House wooing back Wilson via Celine Dion was hilarious. I'm not at all sold on Foreman as Dean of Medicine but I'm willing to give him chance. I'm anxious to see if Foreman will be able to wrangle House or will he just let him run wild. Either way, Foreman will have his work cut out for him.

you know what i might usually hate moves like foreman in other shows and say he would be too young or something but for some weird reason its almost like he was made for that position and it actually makes perfect sense to me. he just seems very administratively

Man do people even exist in the real world anymore? The comments on this board are ridiculous gee where have I seen youngish Asian medical professional oh maybe a real hospital. As an American I should be used to American ignorance and arrogance but you people have floored me this time around. Not liking a character is one thing but saying she unrealistic when you have no reference with reality is unacceptable and the bowl cut yeah that's how a lot of Asian super-nerds look. Her character was brilliant defiant to House and at the same time having a weakness he could play with and in the end coming closer to being a whole independent person and Wilson was handled perfectly that two for two the show is back on track.
