How much time would you get for that?

I mean, if they went with attempted murder or attempted manslaughter I imagine it would be a lot.

If they went with reckless driving / endangerment / assault I imagine it would be less.

In any case, I imagine it would normally be years. Which leads me to wonder how the writers will have him get out before that (without a time jump or a prison break).

    Spoilers

There's going to be a time jump. He'll have been in prison for ages before it even starts, about a year I think.

I posted some links to spoilery stuff, mostly different trailers etc on the other S8+ Spoilers thread.

S...This season we get to see House in prison instead of practicing medicine?? What a great concept.

Having it set a year late is a clever idea and I would guess made necessary by writing out Cuddy. Should be interesting.

A lot of people generally think using a time jump is lazy writing, but I don't think that's usually the case. Especially in this case. It was probably necessary, to show the consequences of his actions etc without making the entire show set in prison for the whole time. Also how to deal with Lisa leaving and write that in without her.

So I take it Dr. Adams will end up on House's team later in the season.

Totally spotted "Urkel"! He looked a bit heavy. If I ever end up in prison (and I probably will), I'll gladly choose solitary over a jail cell and having to mingle with all the cliques within the house, and for my own safety. I guess that's why I always enjoyed "House"; totally seems like the isolated type. Hmmm, didn't know Cuddy was being written out of the show. Those of us who are sports fans call this a "lameduck season". Only a miracle could extend the franchise.

This episode reminded me of the old sadomasochistic show Oz on HBO, which I saw some scenes from but never an episode in its entirety. Such a dreary concept, a drama set inside of a prison.

A great episode and terrific acting from HL. I'm looking forward to this season and if it is the last one I hope it goes out with a bang.

Welcome back House. Great episode although the reason for him to be sentenced for a long time for his "crime" is a bit lame and the parole board animosity even lamer. Anyway looks like they are going to reinvent House and I hope they do not kill the show.

From what I read this would be last season of the show, so be ready for it to lose quality exponentially.

Yes, we might see the show go down the tubes if everyone knows that it is ending and if nobody cares. But really, writing for one final season knowing that it is the end could be easier than writing to try to keep the show going and up in the ratings. If they want to put a real effort into it, they could make the show shine again for one last time.

I don't know if I want to see it all come out happily for House. I really don't know how much I like him at this point. Watching the previews for the next episode I'm actually hoping to see Wilson turn his back on him after everything he's put up with over the years.
