this new team just misses somethin... I dunno, I was so used to the lame girl, the dumb auzie and the annoying bully man that this one don look right. I prefer 13 to cameron as she looks less lame. The annoying little man would be a good asset if he weren't so small and unimposing, i mean, who's gonna stand up to House now? And the other dude, well, I don see the purpose of him, I mean, it's hard enough to be interestning next to a character like House, but that guy would fade next to ANY chracter...

I want the old team back too. WAAHHHHHH. This season has been dreadful and I want all my favourite characters working together and making me laugh at the team dynamics.

Don't get me started on 13, though. She cannot act, has a vacant expression perpetually and is COMPLETELY unlikable not to mention annoying. If house and her become an item

If the writer's strike doesn't get settled, it won't be this season. And, who's to say that the old team will be back anyways? We'll never know this, until the show's back with new episodes. Which could be next season.

Gee, those were my exact thoughts on Cameron when I started watching the show. More 13 less Cameron for me.

Me too! I don't like watching the show as much right now, just because the old team isn't there! I miss them!

I'm not a big fan of 13 either. She can act, but I just don't think that she's even half as good as Cameron. She's my favorite character! (and House)

That would really suck if her and House became an item. I want House/Cameron!

Count with my vote, this new team is just not the same. Seasons 1&2 were really worth it, 3 is OK, 4 is not cool. We need them to come back.

that seems to be the question of the season "When will the old team be back?" . I haven't watched much of this season , don't like the newbies, miss the old cast. Plus, I think that the old cast is getting treated so badly, I imagine they're always telling them, your time will come soon, don't worry soon you will be back for good and it will be great! I've seen the answer to that question on another site http://www.housemd-guide.com/spoilers.php, just go out there and look at the exec producer's answer, it's so weak and up in the sky... She's like we want to bring them back , we will bring them back but we just don't know how yet... Well, if she doesn't know how they will bring them really back then who does???!!! I can see her going around in circles with her answers and that's the way it's been all along this year! The actors have done so much for this show, Hugh Laurie is a terrific actor but he was not the only one on the show, he was well surrounded by these other fine actors and they deserve much better than being treated this way, they contributed as well to make the show the success it is now...!

HOUSE: You're right. Only one solution. Never replace them. Ever. (Alone)

Of course they've done a good job and contributed for the success of the show, but that doesn't mean the writers and the producers can't decide to take a different path now.

They're actors and they know that that's the way the industry works. They've got a lot of attention by participating in the show and there's no doubt they can now have better offers now then they could have had before. So it's not like they didn't get anything from it.

The show was becoming too predictable and needed a change and imo, that change was great. I just wish the producers will let the old team leave once and for all so that the new guys can show what they're capable of. It's not going to be the same, but that was the whole point to begin with.

I find it really odd how people can say the show was becoming too predicable and needed a change. Shows like SCI, Criminal Intent (and the other Law and Order shows), NYPD Blue, etc etc etc, have had the same formula for many many years, and I've never heard anyone complain that they were bored with the crime happens-people solve it-bad guy's arrested markup. They don't need to "change" to be good, and I completely fail to see why it had to happen to House. There was nothing wrong with the formula as it was, and it's a little ironic that the formula is now exactly the same as it used to, just with new people whom most of us don't care for. What a change

I think it has to be divided - the formula of the show and the replacement of the characters on House's team. The formula is more stable and more difficult to change dramatically. It had worked perfectly for 2 first seasons ,but not so much in season 3 ,especially after the Tritter arc .I don't know how much it's going to be changed at the end of the day -all we've seen in season 4 by now was a Survivor game and it obviously wasn't the permanent "change" (and IMO they should have made it much much shorter, but I guess they had their reasons - they wanted to see how the ratings would do ,it takes time). Personally, I don't think the formula would be changed much... In opposite characters may and sometimes should be replaced. I'm a strong believer that House's team shouldn't be permanent and as the show's progressed in it's 4th season it was just natural to let more grown up , experienced doctors, leave juniors fellow positions and find more suitable jobs.It didn't necessarily had to be all at once, but the creators decided that way and IMO they should stick to it.To bring the old team back in their old positions NOW would be the biggest mistake - "House" is not a he's-been-in-a-coma-for-2 years-but-he's-back soap.As for the actors...I agree with Doarpr, they've done a good job and they got enough fame out of it to built successful careers. And I also agree with Marie793 that their positions on the show now are demeaning (maybe being still listed as main characters and,I'm guessing, being paid the same as it was, compensate it) ,but unlike her I think they should be let go as soon as possible ,not brought back.

Yep, I agree, the overall formula hasn't changed. Season three didn't work because, well, nothing really worked after they mucked it all up with the Tritter arc, and actually it's season three that doesn't fit in. If s. three had been like the two previous seasons, I don't think anyone would have felt any need for any changes.

I wouldn't have minded that the show was about letting young doctors get a year or two with House to gain experience and then move on, but that wasn't really what they laid the grounds for when they started the show. Having no flow of fellows for three whole years and then suddenly disrupting everything and bringing in a lot of new faces, that pretty much screwed with the balance IMO. But I guess they got caught in their own story, since a fellowship wasn't supposed to last more than two years. I think they could have done a smoother replacement of characters if they'd done it continuously, and it wouldn't have had to be about the formula at all, which as you say, hasn't really changed at all.

As for bringing the old team back full time.. To me it's a matter of two evils. I don't care enough about the new ones to really want to watch a show with them, but undoing it all is sort of impossible and would also be rather pathetic, even though I'd still prefer to see the old team working together. So I don't know which I prefer.. Guess we're stuck with the middle ground, which is also rather unsatisfying.

And yeah, the survivor arc was way too long, and maybe I'd feel different about the whole thing if he'd just hired a new team and be done with it

Same here, I also liked the old team better...

Or at at least for the new team: 13, Big Love (the single Father), the b*tch want those three instead...if a new team had to be picked...

I agree that the replacement of team members could have been done more gradually, but on the whole I think it was a good move and the fact that it didn't hurt the ratings says lots of viewers are o.k. with the move. I agree that to bring them back now, as if nothing has happened, would be a mistake.

The formula worked well - with the occasional non-formula eps - so there's no real reason to change that. The change will come from House's dynamics with the new team - their different personalities, background and different fields of medical expertise would challenge him in new ways. I'm looking forward to seeing that, hopefully without Foreman on the new team - I still don't get what he's doing there at all.

well, you can't really tell if the new team is not as good as the old team. No doubt thaht the old team was good under House but the new team hasn't really got the chance to work under the non-compete circumstances, may be they will improve...

wait, scratch what i just said.

I WANT THE OL' TEAM BACK, main character not supportings !!

I guess i'm the only one who likes the new "spin" on the show. I think it's funny to watch the new people run to Cameron, Chase, and Foreman when they don't know how to handle House. I think the new team will bring some new interesting storylines to the show. Well, at least when the writers come back.
