    It had great sound mixing.
  • A look inside House's head

Great episode, funniest one in a while too, with the alcoholic ice cream and House throwing the party in Wilson's apartment....

I love the look inside House's head, especially because we view it through an imaginary Amber, very cool.

In this episode of House, the following happens. During a wrestling competition, a deaf wrestler collapses. We then see that House is still hallucinating and seeing Amber. The wrestler soon becomes House's latest case, when it becomes known that he has been hearing explosions, even though he is deaf. Cameron asks Wilson to throw Chase a bachelor party as his best man doesn't arrive until the day before the wedding. Soon House finds out about this and adds himself to the party and the organising of it. Soon the wrestler loses his vision in one of his eyes. House throws Chase a bachelor party in Wilson's house. During which the wrestler gets worse and so the team get called back in. Soon they learn what is wrong with him; all of his symptoms are connected to the fact that he recently stopped chewing tobacco for wrestling.moreless
  • House Perfection

This episode easily shows the rise of this current Season- from a slow, unpredictable start, to a drama back to something of its old form. Amber is a good addition, and the writers have remained clever in not making her the Cutthroat **** of before, but rather a part of House's personality. I loved the interactions between him and his imaginary friend, and seeing how his extraordinary brain works.

The case itself was also very interesting, certainly one of the best ones in a while. The whole bachelor party thing was also amazingly well done, and it was good for the show to let its hair down for a bit, and show the doctor's as human's. I loved how Wilson was trying to walk home from his own house! The writers also gave another good twist, in showing how Amber's friend turns nasty, and turns out to be a curse rather than a blessing. It also seems that House is actually losing his mind, as his hallucination doesn't appear to be going away.

Overall, this episode was an amazing one, and shows some brave, bold new ideas in this formulaic show. Bravo the writers!moreless
  • Insomnia, hallucinations and deadly thoughts...

    9.5
A really good episode. I'm glad that Kutner's death means something and wasn't just a quick fix to get him out the show. I'm glad its still affecting everyone: Cameron is afraid Chase is proposing out of fear, Thirteen realises her and Foreman don't talk much, Wilson wants things to get back to normal when they clearly aren't and House hasn't slept through the night since...I liked the POTW storyline even with the inaccuracies and seeing Amber as House's sub-conscious but what scared both me and House was the fact he wanted the patient dead and more importantly Chase dead - because he can't stand to see anybody happy? Doesn't really make sense considering Kutner and his guilt over Amber's death. I got to say it was strange seeing House laughing so hard with Wilson but I love seeing these two together! Brilliant ep.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • When House phones Foreman from the morgue, his phone is in his left hand and he starts speaking. When the camera cuts immediately back, it's in his right hand.

    • When House's prescription bottle for his sleeping pills zolpidem is shown, the instructions incorrectly say "take 1 capsule 3 times daily for 10 days until all taken." The medication, which also is not made in the strength listed on the bottle, is taken once at bedtime.

    • When Chase licks Karamel, he tastes the strawberry and a few seconds later begins suffocating from anaphalaxis. However, anaphalaxis does not hit a person that quickly.

  • QUOTES (16)

    • Thirteen: (talking about Chase's bachelor party) If I get drunk enough, there's a chance I might make out with one of the strippers. (House and Amber look up at her) Or become one.
      House, Amber: Sold.

    • House: I need sleeping pills. I was gonna hit up Wilson but he's not answering his phone.
Dr. Cuddy: He must have left it in his pants, which he wasn't wearing when the police found him trying to walk home… oddly, from his own apartment.

    • Amber: Aren't you curious about why I'm here?
House: Curious why no French maid's outfit. No spanky pants.
      Amber: I'm a hallucination... not a fantasy.

    • Amber: That might explain why you're hallucinating. Doesn't explain why you're hallucinating Wilson's dead girlfriend.
House: Probably just my secret and very unconscious desire to get Wilson into my bedroom.

    • House: I need a 'scrip for sleeping pills. My neighbor's dog been keeping me awake, and seems strangely invulnerable to poison.

    • House: Listen, two things I do well. Bachelor parties rank towards the top.

    • Dr. Foreman: (checking out strippers) You know what a "broken cowboy is"? It was on House's list of requirements.
      Thirteen: I have three theories.

    • House: Yeah, by all means abandon a great diagnostic theory because it's difficult to prove.

    • Dr. Wilson: The main reason my third wife and I eloped was to avoid House's bachelor party. Have you seen Caligula?

    • House: So, and I see no logical way around this, if you want your marriage to matter, you have to be a wanton, trolling, muck-covered pig the day before.
Dr. Chase: You're evil. See ya.

    • Dr. Wilson: Uh, I'm not going to the bachelor party. Every time I go to one of your parties, I end up embarrassing myself in some new and unexpected way.
House: That whole thing with the duck was hardly unexpected.

    • House: My patient is opting into a handicap! It's an insult to all the other gimps out there.

    • House: Huh. I figured by now you'd be at the board in your monocle and jodhpurs.
Dr. Foreman: Yeah, you did something stupid. Quick, better mock someone.

    • House: Why aren't you in my office?
Dr. Wilson: Because I know what the word "my" means?

    • Dr. Wilson: (about House) You did it to make his life better. It was a caring act. Which you did in a way that was immoral and illegal, but... baby steps.

    • Dr. Foreman: You were right about the heart. Should have listened to you.
House: The correct phrasing would be, "I should always listen to you."

The series was canceled shortly thereafter, but Alan Cumming played the character in the 2000 movie The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas.

    • Dr. Wilson: Have you seen Caligula?
Referencing the 1979 movie starring Malcolm McDowell in the title role, which lovingly detailed the orgies of the mad emperor's court. Co-directed by Penthouse founder Bob Guccione, who added many hardcore sex scenes to later releases of the movie.
