  • Nothing new - just old and boring

What exactely was the plot of this episode: Medically more than strange an incoherant(I'm a physician), but this you can say about some far fetched cases. But the whole House-Cuddy-story running amok in an unstructured way? It's neither important for the story in general nor does it lead anywhere as far as character develloping is concerned. The whole episode is just a boring flow of depression. We don't learn anything new about House: Yes he is nacistically vulnerable- that we knew before, and yes, he's a egoistic stuborn donkey, this we knew as well. And nothing new about Cuddy either: To be in such as postition she must be hard and reckless, and -sick of House- that's the way she behaved - So what.

This was the first episode I had to watch twice, I fell asleep.
  • Where is this show going?

I have to admit right off that I missed most of this episode. We cancelled satellite and are relying on a friend's taped versions (bad tape..etc). What I want to know is, who is (Lucas) related to? The producer? The producer's wife? Why on earth is he still in the show?? With the kind of start the season had, I was expecting great things to come...now it's just petering...dribbling...off into the sunset. Please somebody kill off Lucas! Not that HUddy has to continue - I personally don't think the actors have squat-doodly chemistry together - but I'd love to see more of House getting better, less House wandering around in a plot-less daze. Please someone do something!
  • WOW... WHy so many bad reviews??

I'm really surprised that there are so many low rated reviews on this episode. I know that a lot of people don't like Huddy but I though this episode handled it great. It broke my heart when she sent him to the wrong house and the lady offered him a turkey sandwich. He looked so happy when he got out of the car and when he heard that this was not the correct house, he looked so sad (and so did I). I could not believe that Cuddy could do such a thing, she always seemed better than that, but it proves that she still is not convinced that House has changed because she didn't want to risk him being himself at thanksgiving. As for him saying that at the end he would leave it alone, it showed that he too has grown because he is trying to let her be happy no matter how much it kills him. (If you love something, let it go!!) Next, lets talk about the case. I loved how the character paralled House in so many ways, that really felt like a classic House episode. How he changed himself for the girl he loved as House is trying to do, except House would never risk losing his intelligence (read the "flowers for algernon article in the news section, it sums this up better than I can). The 16 spleen thing was cool. I like how they delt with the 14 thing without the booring scenes between just the two and I liked the Chase thing as well (especially the punching House thing).

Finally the Ignorance is Bliss. House used this to describe what the patient had done to himself, but in a way he was also describing him and Cuddy. She was ignorant to the fact that the drunken confession was a ploy and they both feigned ignorance in the end (House did not let on that he knew about her and Lucas but she could tell, however neither let the other know)

    I Loved this episode
  • Burden of being genius..

So, I most say, the start of the episode was really thrilling: we got genius who does not want to be genius (not that we first do not know that and have to figure it out). There were much focus on chars. Thirteen and Taub are back and they are not getting it easy. But probably best developments and char moments go to House who has his last(?) try to split Cuddy and Lucas and what creative ways he does that.. Ok.. we get some weird things turning that try.. like clinic patience. I do not know, but if House can keep up that nice game.. it would be refreshing after very angry and not nice episode before it.

Okay, so 8 isn't a BAD mark, but compared to all my other House reviews, it sucks- big time. The soap opera that is Huddy has got to stop! This was at its worse. The whole being sent to the wrong address thing was just overkill- surely Cuddy would never have gone that far.

The House and Lucas scene when House was pretending to be drunk was just awfully done- it was probably one of the worst scenes the show has ever done.

The only saving grace was House and Cuddy's last scene involving the animal farm- it was more like their old relationship!

The patient- who really cared? And he could have been so interesting! But no House vs Genius element here- there WAS some good dialogue, but not enough of it. The diagnosis was cool, but there was just no suspense with the case (again).

Cameron's departure was hardly touched upon- wasn't she and Wilson friends? And Wilson hasn't berated or mentioned it to House since. He too is drawn into the horrible Huddy moments. Its frustrating.

Saving graces? Chase punching chase, then House making excuses with the otterman was hilarious. And a clinic patient! My God, about time too! Apart from that, it was below average for a House episode. Still good compared to most shows out there, but so far from its best I had a hollow feeling in my stomach.
  • WAS THAT A CLINIC PATIENT?

    6.5
    "Fair"
That was the only part to this episode was the fact that we saw some occurrence of a clinic patient, albeit it was to go after Cuddy, but I'll take what I can get. The writers could've done so much with the genius patient, so, so much. It could've been like a House vs. God moment, but no. No dueling with the patient who apparently wants to be stupid, which could've let in so many good quips. But no, let's focus on the Huddy crap and the useless Lucas character. Wilson seems to be a walking drone these days with about as much use as Lucas these days. House and Wilson don't even have that playful banter as they used to.

House allowing the patient to go back to the cough syrup was kind of a turn off. That's like saying that House can go back to vicodin, which I have a feeling will probably happen during the season finale. When else a better time for old House to reappear?

I like how the writers forgot about the time Chase punched House during season three, and also how there's hardly any aftermath of Cameron leaving the hospital. Soon, we'll be returning to Fourteen, and Wilson and Chase will begin moping together in the comforts of Wilson's apartment while House talks to his now pretend shrink while wondering why his plunging a knife into a socket never actually killed him.

The well is running dry, and no one's getting off their asses to try to refill it. Let's just keep going with the "My So Called Life" Huddy romance and beat around the big thick bush until this show is finally cancelled. At least "The X-Files" didn't screw itself up until the end of the seventh season. Hey, that's a great idea! I'm sure Robert Patrick is in some need of work right about now, let's bring him on board and get the party started!
  • Hopefully this means they will move on from Huddy but I'm not holding my breath

Haha, people were saying that Omar looked a lot like Mike Tomlin when the Steelers were in the Super Bowl last year.

As much as I want to see more Chase, it makes no sense for him to be back on House's team. House fired him because he had learned all he could. Did he regress? And Shore said one of the reasons for getting rid of the old team after season 3 was because real-life fellowships only last 2 or 3 years. So is it realistic for Chase to work for House for 4 years, move into surgery for 2, and then move back to working for House again? It's also a shame that Cameron had to leave for Chase to get back on the team.

So now Foreman decides he is friends with Chase? He seems to turn off and on friendships with people. He wasn't friends with Cameron in season 2 when he stole her article and he was friends with her when he was leaving at the end of season 3. He said he never liked Chase when he was leaving in season 3 and now he wants to go out for drinks with him?

Wow, can the writers force Huddy down our throat any more? Shore said between seasons that they were going to back off. Now House says he loves Cuddy? So much for backing off. At least House was just saying it to break them up but all this time spent on Huddy is still annoying. And it seems like the only time Wilson appears is for House to consult about Cuddy. It would be nice if he did some other things, he is a doctor. Hopefully now that House realized Cuddy and Lucas aren't going to break up they are going to stop this Huddy crap but the promos don't look promising.

So Cuddy wants House to press charges against Chase? What about the time House punched Chase? She didn't care then. And there were even more witnesses then because House did it in the middle of the clinic.

Taub's lie to his life was interesting. He can't stand up for himself so he lies about it. He better hope she doesn't find out the truth.

And it's a good thing the patient was on the back-burner again (sarcasm). Between House trying to get an invite for Thanksgiving, acting like a love-sick teenager, coming up with a plot to break Cuddy and Lucas up, and everyone asking Chase how he is holding up, there was hardly any time for the patient.

I wish there would have been more of a reaction from people regarding Cameron leaving besides Chase. House was clearly affected in the final scene so much so that he almost went after her. And nothing from Wilson either. Cameron helped him through Amber's death but he did nothing for her and doesn't even seem to be affected by her departure.
  • Only gets a "7" because of all the great House quotes...

Enough with the soap opera! I've had it. I usually can stand the soapy parts of the show, but this time it's gone too far. The medical mystery is totally neglected in this episode, with no dramatic suspense, no bizarre symptoms, and no last minute reversals that would kill the patient. Sure, the final diagnosis was awesome, 16 spleens! That's the best medical malady they've had for a long time. But there's no real reason to want the patient to live-after all, he doesn't even really want to live. And there's no suspense with the case, making all the time they spent on it worthless.

Now that isn't to say that there weren't some funny parts, (House/Wilson getting on to the elevator, House calling all the Julia Cuddys in a 100 mile radius, House mocking the male nurse etc.), but the overwhelming majority of time was spent crafting this not-all-that-interesting and super-complicated love merry go round between House/Cuddy/Lucas that drained energy from the show and made it feel like I was watching General Hospital. Season six started out awesome, but these last 2 episodes have really sucked the momentum out of the show. I'm fine with Cameron being gone, after all the show isn't called "Cameron" (although to hear some fans, you'd think it was), but back in season 2 they wouldn't have drawn it into some soap opera, they would have some fighting, some House slapping, and then people would move on and save the dying guy at the last second. I'm okay with the Huddy romance, but they didn't suck up the entire show when house was involved with Stacy. While the witty House dialog was back in full force, the soap opera energy sucker was at it's peak. Hopefully it will settle down.

Way too much emphasis on the House and Cuddy relationship tonight. It looks like this will be the major arc for the rest of the season and while it is a positive that the show is venturing into uncharted waters with this, I can't but feel that it's just not as strong as some of the arcs from the yesteryear. Thirteen's return to the team was treated as a backdrop tonight when she was essentially the second star last year, meanwhile the blob known as Taub got too much screen time.

I chuckled at the punch, but something was just missing here tonight. I don't know if it's the fact that the Cameron/Chase conflict is eerily similar to what Alex and Izzie are going through right now on Grey's Anatomy, or maybe something bigger, but this season is lacking, just missing an intangible that makes it a Top 5 show on TV.

On a side note, I did like the comparison of Eric Foreman to Mike Tomlin. Very good observation.
