The unaired version of the pilot episode contains approximately 4 minutes of additional material: two deleted scenes plus an extended opening sequence.
----
The Main Titles (opening main cast credits) ran 100 seconds (1:40). The sequence featured many images of New Jersey, mostly of areas in or around Princeton: the Lower Free Bridge in Trenton (aka: the Trenton Makes, The World Takes Bridge), Lake Carnegie, and various buildings of the Undergraduate and Graduate Colleges at Princeton University, including the Frist Campus Center -- the building used to stand in for the Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital in the show's exterior shots.
----
The aired version of the pilot had a very abbreviated opening with the main credits running during the first scene following the teaser.
----
The first cut scene occurs at the 4:30 mark of the aired pilot. It shows Chase, Foreman and Cameron in the conference room adjacent to House's office. Chase is working on a crossword puzzle. Foreman sits drumming his fingers on the table, bored. And Cameron is answering House's email.
----
During their discussion, it is revealed that Chase has been working for House for a year, Cameron for six months and it is Foreman's third day. Foreman is frustrated that in three days he has yet to see a patient. He bemoans the job opportunities he's passed on to work with House. Chase say couldn't care less so long as his checks don't bounce. He enjoys being able to tell girls that he's a doctor and still have free time to be able to actually date them.
----
It is also revealed that Foreman's specialty is neurology, Chase's is intensive care, and Cameron's is immunology.
----
Foreman questions what kind of man House is (abusive? a misogynist?) since he doesn't have a secretary but seems to have Cameron answering his mail. Cameron explains that House tosses all requests for consults in the trash. She digs them up and apologizes for him, stating that he's too busy. Scene lasts 84 seconds (1:24).
----
A brief part of this scene was recycled for the second episode, Paternity, occurring at the 2:56 mark. Chase does not know a 9-letter word for iodine deficiency in children and Foreman tells him that it is cretinism.
----
The second cut scene occurs immediately following the first and has Wilson and House at the elevators. Wilson is still trying to convince him to take Rebecca's case. House reminds him of another woman, the Cat Woman, whom Wilson had also claimed was his cousin. The woman's doctor had been treating her for a heart attack and House had diagnosed a cat allergy over the phone.
----
The elevator arrives, and as House tries to enter, Wilson grabs his cane and won't let go of it until House agrees to take the case. Wilson says that it's important to him. House states that that is Wilson's pathology, that everything is important to him and that was also the reason that he's been married three times.
----
This fact has not been mentioned elsewhere in any other episode although House does allude to it in Fidelity when he mentions that Wilson loved all of his wives, occurring at the 34:20 mark.
----
When Wilson informs him that he's already had Rebecca transferred from Trenton County, House agrees to take the case and Wilson finally lets go of his cane. House asks if Rebecca has an interventricular lesion which Wilson confirms she does but then says that he never stated that it was interventricular. House smugly says that if it were anywhere else, Wilson would have biopsied it and he wouldn't have needed him to figure it out. Scene lasts 51 seconds.
----
This bit about Wilson grabbing House's cane is alluded to later in both the aired and unaired versions of the pilot.
----
In the aired version, it occurs at the 7:35 mark, when House is trying to avoid Cuddy at the elevators but she sees him, reminding him of their appointment 20 minutes earlier which he blew off. As he tries to enter the elevator, he turns and asks if she's going to grab his cane, to stop him from leaving. She replies that that would be juvenile. The line makes little sense since the earlier scene with Wilson had been cut.
