When Wilson is being prepped for his liver to be removed, a closeup of the anesthetic syringe shows an air bubble. This would have killed him.
House's team is present when he makes the $100 bet with Wilson. However, when Wilson consults them later to help with the diagnosis, they don't seem to know anything about it.
When Wilson goes to see House to tell him about his "House moment," House says Wilson's patient has right arm paralysis. However, in the opening scene, it is the patient's left arm that is paralyzed.
House: He's a self-important jerk.
Dr. Wilson: He's my friend.
House: He's a self-important jerk.
Dr. Wilson: Seems to be what I'm attracted to.
House: Guy calls you Jim. Doesn't even know your name.
Dr. Wilson: Jim is short for James. Now go away, Lim.
Tucker: I read somewhere that the Native Americans say turkeys know what you're thinking.
Dr. Wilson: So I should stop thinking about German porn.
Tucker: No, no. That'll lure them closer.
Dr. Wilson: I just had a House moment. Diagnosed transverse myelitis from a cold sore. How cool is that? Patients really eat that crap up.
House: That's why I'm loved.
House: (to Wilson) A few patients die, you might get sad again. Make a speech that would end your career. Frankly, I'm stalking you for you.
Dr. Wilson: Where's House?
Taub: Performing his ritual "Hiding from Cuddy to avoid getting a new case" dance. It's sort of a jazz-fusion sort of thing.
House: Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realize you were in the middle of something.
Dr. Wilson: It's a conference room with glass walls. You thought I'd be alone?
House: We just removed a screw from a guy's lung. Weird thing is, he didn't get better. Any idea what that means?
Dr. Wilson: It means you're not listening to me.
House: No, I'm ignoring you to make a point. There's a difference.
Dr. Wilson: The problem with that technique is I have no idea what point you're making.
House: That your idea is implicitly not worth listening to. Doubling your patient's chemo is stupid. Damn, now it's explicit.
Dr. Wilson: The operation is in two hours, and I'd like you to be there with me.
Dr. Wilson: What... why?
House: Because if you die, I'm alone.
House: Disappointment is anger for wimps. You don't have to be so gentle about everything. It's okay to get angry once in a while.
Dr. Wilson: You can't change a table.
House: Actually, you can. Just need a coat of paint and the guts to use it.

House: Late night with the Pigeon sisters?
Referencing Cecily and Gwendolyn Pigeon, the upstairs apartment dwellers in Neil Simon's The Odd Couple. They were featured in the Broadway play and movie adaptation, and were recurring characters during the first season of the TV series. These eccentric British sisters occasionally double-dated with Felix and Oscar.
Dr. Wilson: I'm not here for an argument, House.
House: No. Right. That's room 12A.
Referencing the Argument sketch from "The Money Programme", an episode of Monty Python's Flying Circus. In it, Michael Palin comes to a clinic to pay to have an argument, but finds himself in the Abuse Room. He is eventually informed that the Argument Room is 12A.
