I really enjoyed watching this episode. The "Boys'"frustrations with not being able to do their jobs and make a difference is palatable. You can feel it, and relate to it.
Joe is so frustrated by not being able to bring the girl home alive, he is ready to quit.
Levon is a bit more philosophical about it, but he too his having problems not being able to help where he feels he should. And you can see that he really doesn't want to lose LaFiamma as a partner.
And when Levon is taken hostage and wounded, and Joe goes in to save him and the day their concern for the job and each other is obvious.
sidenote: When Joe is talking to one of the Dept. shrinks in a bar--that bar is really impressive, haven't seen one set up like that before. And the quotes that come out of this episode are great.moreless
