  • Marshall has to fire Randy.

"Canning Randy" is a good How I Met Your Mother episode. I enjoyed how Ted's class actually loves him. But I love how Zoey starts egging Ted's apartment and she turns Ted's students against him. I love how Zoey is so crazy and I love how she gets all Ted's students to skip class to protest tearing down the Arcadian. I love how Robin is so annoyed by Becky that she goes out films an embarrassing commercial. The only thing I didn't like was Marshall's plot. I didn't care that he didn't want to fire Randy. I give this episode a 8/10.moreless

After three long years of asking for it, SNL veteran Will Forte finally returned to How I Met Your Mother. He had a memorable appearance the first time around and while he was easily the best thing about the show tonight, I do not know if I am clamoring for a third guest spot (although I am glad Bob Odenkirk returned as well.)

Tonight's How I Met Your Mother was amusing to an extent, but the storylines right now, both the one-offs, and the arc with Jennifer Morrison, are just not entertaining me that much. The show really has nothing left to accomplish, but don't expect CBS to cancel it for that reason.

Okay episode, but don't even get me started on the return of "where's the poop, Robin?"moreless

Things are picking up for How I Met Your Mother after the last unsettling episode. Zoey was actually likable and I commend Jennifer Morrison here. I think I've might have been to harsh on her on my last review, "Architect of Destruction" She was actually pretty great here, and we got to see some heart here, something I haven't seen on this show in a while.

Even though I do think this show has lost it's sense of realism, this was still an entertaining watch even if this show isn't the funniest show on television, it was entertaining. We did get some funny one liners here though, from Lilly being "crazy" by putting the dismembered horse in the kid's bed to the tie in with Randy, we did get some funny lines here.

What I mean about losing it's sense of realism, I meant that ridiculous commercial, and Robin's unrealistic talk show. Marshall was actually not awful here, he didn't bring Lilly down which was great, and Marshall didn't act like a complete idiot.

Overall a good episode of How I Met Your Mother, I'm actually intrigued with this Zoey/Ted arc.moreless
  • Missing something definitely, but I am enjoying the development of the new Zoey storyline.

    9.5
This was a decent instalment o f How I Met Your Mother, but there have been much bette episodes, and much funnier ones too.

The comedy aspect of this episode was completly absent, apart from the scene where Randy trashes Mashall's room. That was a great scene, but the rest of the episode didn't match this standard.

The good thing about this episode was the development of the new Zoey storyline, which I am really enjoying. Hopefully they will continue to build on it, because it was very enjoyable and quite entertaining.

All up, nothing special. Wouldn't really recommend it, but if you're a fan of this show, you will still probably enjoy it. I'm expecting to ahave episodes of a higher standard next week.moreless
