  • Lily is pregnant.

"Challenge Accepted" is a good How I Met Your Mother episode. The episode itself was really disappointing before watching the ending. It had an amazing ending! I loved seeing the Arcadian fall to the ground because by this episode I am just sick of hearing about it. I LOVE That Lily is FINALLY PREGNANT!!! All the talk of pregnancy over the seasons, it just gets annoying when she wasn't pregnant already. So I'm glad she's pregnant now. I love how it's revealed that Ted is the best man at Barney's wedding. I love the character Nora. I instantly liked her. But I'm hoping Barney marries Robin. I give this episode a 8.5/10.

  • this was a very interesting episode and now the mother's identity is clear i cant believe no one knows it yet you want to know click on this review......(spoilers)

first of all in (no tomorrow) season 3 e 12 we see emmanuelle vaugier walking by ted and they say a word to each other.why would they put an actress to do just that and what is the reason of the meeting between them that is because she is the mother and she is not blond that is another reason. and ted says that the mother was there in the bar. and about what is her charecter going to be on the show she is barney's sister (the reasons):1-when barney visit his father he says that barney's sister is in college and ted says that the mother is in college. 2-ted meets the mother in barney's wedding. that should be enough to make you believe thatthemotheris emmanuellevaugierandsheisbarney's sister. when the show is over and they finally reveale the mother's identity just remember this review and thank me

first off, yay! marshall and lily are having a baby! second, WTF! barney is the one getting married! and before ted?! i did not see that coming, i don't think it was the best episode of himym but it was still good and i enjoyed watching it as opposed to some of the other season finales i watched. i enjoyed the friendship between barney and robin, i think it's the first time i've seen them be really serious confidants since they broke up. and barney is an awesome friend to ted (when he wants to be). i love this show and i'm glad we get at least two more seasons, and it doesn't bother me anymore that he hasn't met the mother becasue i watch for the characters, not the story. the stories are good but if it weren't for the characters there woulnd't be a show. can't wait for next season and the next clues about the mother, and also when barney is getting married, cause i'm pretty sure it wasn't right that second.

    hurry up september!

This last season has really hinted to finding out Ted's wife. Now we know that he meets her at Barney's wedding. With the clips seemingly already taped, it makes you wonder whether or not it will happen next season. Can the show named "how I met your mother" really go one once he's met her? I don't think so, and It seems like they are wrapping up everyone's life in a neat little bow. Lily and Marshall get their baby. Barney gets married. Robin's working for a prestigious news company. Marshall is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from his dream job. I wouldn't be surprised if Barney's wedding is the series finale.
  • For a season finale, very disappointing.

This was a very bad episode for a season finale, although it was a decent enough episode, if it had been put somewhere isn the iddle of the season.

The storylines were not particularly brilliant, although Barney encountering Nora again was dfeinitely a highlight of the episode.

Some of the other stuff that went on was all rigth, such as the Arcadian finlly being demolished, but all up, we are lef t with no suspense for the next three months until the new season starts. I didn't think this was fitting for a season finale, and HIMYM needs to pick up its game for Season Seven.

Hopefully next season will be beter. There were a few good episodes this eseason, but all up, not much of an improvement on Season Five.

Simply the most infuriating finale of the year. I love How I Met Your Mother and that seems to be problem. The show makes absolutely no issue of punning their own fans. Like speaking the titular words at a moment when you least expect it, only to make a joke about it. Or to start the season with a wedding, promising the answer will come, only to spend a few seconds on it in the finale. I won't leave the show but it definitely feels like it's leaving me.

The finale sees old problems revisited. Ted wants to get back with Zoe, Barney sees that girl again while flaming up some old chemistry with Robin and Marshall and Lily are pregnant. The latter makes me sincerely happy because they are an awesome couple and they want it really bad. Unfortunately this revelation had to accompany a predictable story about puking and soup. It wasn't funny, it didn't work and this revelation is too cliche to spend an episode on wondering. Except for Legen..wait for it.. were finales never the show's strong suit. This one being no different. If I ever try to stop watching? Challenge Accepted.
  • Ted fights with Barney about who can press the button to demolish the Arcadian, whilst Mr 'hotshot'does not look to the future and wants to get back with Zoey. Marshall and Lilly get 'sick' and robin has some feelings towards barney!

PLEASE BE BARNEY AND ROBIN, PLEASE BE BARNEY AND ROBIN

PLEASE BE BARNEY AND ROBIN, PLEASE BE BARNEY AND ROBIN

PLEASE BE BARNEY AND ROBIN, PLEASE BE BARNEY AND ROBIN

PLEASE BE BARNEY AND ROBIN, PLEASE BE BARNEY AND ROBIN

ok before i talk about ted, the only reason i gave this episode a 9.5 instead of a 10 is because of how randomly Nora appeared and how quickly they dispatched of Zoey.

Now Teddywestside or hotshot, went back to his usual complaining and you would think he would have gotton over Zoey especially what she did to him, bi-ch! however this episode showed that when ted faced a little bit of adversity he would crawl back into his shell, until barney and robin came to the flower rescue and saved him - thankgod.

It was good to see zoeys reign came to an end as she had little development through the series and became nothing but a pest. Also when Barney let Ted press the button to demolish the Arcadian you can see how far Barney and Ted have come as freinds and that the building symbolised a new beginning for Ted was touching, lets hope the next girl for Ted is not as dodgy as the Arcadian and that she is the mother!

Now, noone could have possibly predicted Lilly being pregnant - what a shock, especially due to all the lame plots her and marshall have had throughout the season you would think this was just an addition, but the writers did that well. Finally we know that it is Barneys wedding that Ted will meet his wife (even though it was predictable considering how lame Punchey is zzzz...)

In Conclusion PLEASE BE BARNEY AND ROBIN, PLEASE BE BARNEY AND ROBIN

Last week I posited that the finale of the sixth season of How I Met Your Mother would be good based on the show's past performances with season closers, and with "Challenge Accepted" I was proven somewhat correct. The episode continued the sixth season's theme of drawing out story lines that could easily be concluded much sooner in the piece, however, for once, there was actually a point to what was going on. Ted and Barney fight over who gets to blow up the Arcadian; Lilly suffers from what she believes to be food poisoning whilst Marshall waits for his symptoms to kick in and Barney and Robin rush to stop Ted from getting back together with Zoey.

All of it sounds fairly simple and mostly is, but the deeper meaning behind some of it is what gives the episode its weight. Ted and Barney's fight serves little purpose other than to have Robin and Barney realize Ted's intentions to get back with Zoey when he suddenly agrees to let Barney push the button, the character realizations as a result of the chase however, serve quite a bit of purpose. Essentially Ted, Barney and Robin all change their outlooks on the future. Ted looks forward to new relationships whilst Barney and Robin look to the past. There is a strong indication that Robin and Barney still have feelings for each other, with Robin's perhaps being the strongest, and after Barney meets his short-lived love Nora in the street, there is a massive reveal to us. At some point in the future, Barney is getting married. I imagine that there is going to be a strong reliance on this story line throughout the remaining seasons of the show, with an obvious indication that Robin or Nora will be the bride, and I think that it is a good choice on the part of the writers. The glimpses of Barney growing up earlier in the season were some of the best moments that the show has had recently, and more of that as he pushes towards marriage will almost certainly be better.

The other game changing piece of news from the episode comes from Marshall and Lilly's side of the story in the least surprising reveal ever. When they both eat the same soup and Lilly falls ill with food poisoning but Marshall doesn't, pregnancy was the first thing that came to mind. Almost fifteen minutes of screen time later, after Marshall's symptoms never arrive, I was proven correct in my assumption. Given that the couple have been trying for a baby since the fifth season it really was about time that the writers got around to making Lilly pregnant. They finally give her character something to do other than ask Marshall to impregnate her and have set themselves up perfectly for the finale of the seventh season with the birth. As I said before "Challenge Accepted" was somewhat good. The episode propelled the story more than most of the season before it had done even with one of the major reveals being set somewhere in the future. My only problem with the episode as a finale to this show is that it had nothing to do with the mother. It seems like the writers have kind of forgotten what the show is really supposed to be about these days and that they are far more concerned with creating twenty minutes of passable television than a credible and interesting narrative. If they don't start really pushing towards major clues about the mother, the show is going to become so pointless that it will be a shame.
  • Wow (spoilers ahead)

Pretty much the only word that came to me after watching the finale is wow. For a few reasons:

The wedding. The famous wedding where Ted allegedly meets the mother is not Punchy's. It's not even Cindy's. It's Barney's. This whole episode Barney and Robin are trying to stop Ted from getting back together with Zoey and in the process realize that they miss each other. But Barney runs into Nora and she tells him it's never too late. Robin looks a bit sad as she watches them. I'm undecided, I love Barney and Robin but Nora is starting to grow on me, it's just a relief Barney will get married at some point.

Marshall and Lily. Lily starts throwing up after eating some soup and Marshall's convinced he's going to get sick too and blows his big interview because of it, comes home and rants about how much this year sucks. After he sleeps, Lily tells him she's pregnant.

I was so glad that finally happened. They decided a year ago they were going to have a baby and a year went by and if she didn't get pregnant by the end of this year i was gonna be super pissed, but Marshall has officially put a baby in her belly.

This episode was the perfect way to wrap up season 6 which has turned out to be one of my favorite seasons. It had so many jokes and so much heart and so much hope (yes i realize how cheesy it is.) it makes me exicted to get to season 7 to get some more answers.
  • Nice wrap of a mixed season.

I must say I have liked this season way better than season five, which was awful, I almost gave up watching, but thankfully they got their act together this season. Although it seemed after a great episode they seemed to have to put a silly or awful episode next week. Good News was absolutly the best episode this show has had in years but then the next week they kinda ruined it with the idiotic funeral episode. Same for the Heart episode, it was wonderful, I acctually felt like Barney was a real person again, not the cartoon he has become. But the next week was a huge disapointment.

But I will say this Zooey was great, not since Veronika, has Ted had an girlfriend I acctually wished was the mother. Nora was also great addition and I hope she is the one Barney was marrying, Robin has become so unlikable to me the last 2 seasons, I acctually don't see her as a main character anymore, she just is there, being unlikable. And it doesn't help that Cobie Smulders seems to be becoming a worse actress as time goes by. I hope next season she will recover from the season 5 trainwreck, like most of the other characters did this season. But I still don't want her to be Barney's wife. The season finale was pretty good, definatly the seasons top 5 best. I liked Marshall and Lilly story, Lilly sounding like a dinosaur when she throws up was hilarious and Marshall summing up his year was spot on. Ted's story seemed pointless, just a filler and I don't care anymore who the mother is.

But like I said before I hope Robin and Barney will not get together. It would be lame and just wrong.

Well if I was watching a drama hitting climax, this is certainly a great episode, full of consequences. But hey I am watching what I still think should be comedy..I mean there is a laugh track after all but somehow it fails as a comedy. It was okish, not very funny despite having its moments. The biggest failure here is the revelation that Lily is pregnant. It was build up so as to be a big reveal at the end of the episode...well exactly who wouldn`t see that coming from the first time she threw up like 3 minutes into the episode. It was dragged and we had to see Lily threw up for some 20 minutes and there is nothing funny it that. Rest of episode focused on Robin and Barney working together to make sure Ted doesn`t get back with Zoey. Their dedication here doesn`t make a lot of sense. By the end we got the big reveal that Barney will get married either with Nora or Robin or maybe someone else. Yeah Barney Stinson will get married before Ted...how into character we are here. Last time they tried to put Barney into a long term relationship, it failed miserably but I`ll give them the benefit of the doubt. Overall the season was an upgrade from season 5 but that wasn`t really difficult and doesn`t change the fact it was yet another disappointing season for what used to be one of the best comedies out there. And ok season I guess.
  • 'Mother' finale reveals 2 big things

We knew coming into the season six finale of the CBS comedy "How I Met Your Mother" that there was going to be one big reveal with Ted (played by Josh Radnor) being best man at somebody's wedding … we ended up with two big reveals by the finale's end. They had been talking up the wedding since the premiere of season six when it was announced that Ted met the mother of his children at a wedding he was at in the premiere. As the season went on all fans of the show predicted who would be the couple standing at the altar. My final prediction was that the married couple would be Barney (played by Neil Patrick Harris) and his new crush Nora. Well, my prediction was … half right. We found out at the very end of the episode that it is indeed Barney who will be getting hitched in the future. Though the episode also leads us to believe that it could be either Nora or Robin (played by Cobie Smulders), as the two clearly still have feelings for each other based on the finale. I guess it could also by none of the above, but it's unlikely. Honestly, there have been so many loops and turns throughout the six years of this series that I can't remember half of them. The other big reveal in the finale was one that I didn't really expect going into the episode, but it was pretty predictable based on the storyline. Marshall (played by Jason Segel) has a big job interview when his wife Lily (played by Allyson Hannigan) surprises him with soup. The "soup" makes Lily sick and Marshall, who ate the soup hours after Lily, spends the rest of the episode preparing for the doom that lurks. This also resulted in the season six finale of 'HIMYM' being the most disgusting humored episode in the series' successful run, something that I think probably the show could've done without. The big reveal is that Marshall never got sick because … Lily is pregnant. This really shouldn't have been a shock for any of the show's regular watchers who realize that Marshall and Lily have been trying to get pregnant for some time now. It'll be interesting to see what kind of surprises and new twists season seven of "How I Met Your Mother" has in store for us come the fall.
  • Season 6 Finale

    "Great"
The season six finale proved to be better than last year's and proved to have a way better cliffhanger and premise. Which proves that this season was loads better than the last and it was definitely a success. You didn't need the finale to tell you that much though.

I knew Nora was going to walk back in to the picture. Everyone was so sure it was Barney & Robin's wedding, it still could be but there is a possibility it couldn't be. We got a whole new mystery now set in for next season, I'm loving that the writers actually have some sort of direction on where they're going on.

Well... it took a whole season but it finally happened: Lilly is pregnant. I usually predict everything before it happens but I was actually surprised with Lilly's pregnancy. My only complaint about the episode was how pathetic Zoey's sendoff was. I know she wasn't the most loved character, but at least something would have been nice. Overall, can't wait for season 7: looking forward to the many more stories that will come.
