A How I Met Your Mother Community
CBS (ended 2014)
Ever since Ted's kids started to listen his father's story, the not so distant future blent itself with the ultimate flashback of our perspective on Ted's present.

Frustrating at times, this endearing and ultimately hopeful quest for true love sustained the audience through Ted's most painful break-ups, his ups, his downs, even the fact he's left the last single guy among his friends.

A happy ending in sight, and the lead character still has doubts about Robin, he doesn't have the answers any more than Marshal or Lily and his whole happiness depends on Barney Stinson's wedding.

By all means, those two kids should not be sitting in that living room, and the fact that they exist - and they are still listening - is a miracle as rare as true love.

I haven't been miserable waiting for the mother, but my favorite shows have been narrated in the good way, with little hints here and there, and those have been lacking lately. I'm a little concerned that this entire season will be taking place at Robin and Barney's wedding, but I really hope that some episodes are told from HER perspective as well. (unless they do that whole spinoff thing, which I doubt.)

Episode 9x16 is called "How Your Mother Met Me"... so there's that.

Honestly, I don't care about meeting the mother anymore. After 8 seasons of false leads and unnecessary drama between Ted and Robin, I just hope the series is going to end with a decent season.

well said. this show to me is like friends that I invited to a party who won't leave. I like them, I'm glad they came, we had a good time but why won't they just go home!

In hindsight, it makes sense considering the wedding they were waiting for all along was Barney's.

I only wish someone would've told me, so I could've figured out just how long it would actually take for the Mother and Ted to met one another.
