When talking about the FDA tests that were run on "Tantrum" sodapop, a group of mice appear onscreen separated in glass partitions, and one of the mice explodes. However, the mouse that explodes is in a container marked "FDA Tantrum Test Control #AWF4501". The control group is used to gauge the reaction of the other groups, and they wouldn't have been given anything. The other mice should have exploded.
In the bar fight at Hoser Hut, one guy in a Vancouver jersey has "Bays" on the back, referring Carter Bays, one of the creators of the show.
Marshall: We were having a perfectly nice time, and then you kidnapped me! You didn't even let me put on underwear!
Ted: We never used to put on underwear! (pizza guy stares at them)
Robin: What happened?
Barney: You went Canadian.
Robin: How Canadian?
Barney: THIS Canadian! (opens the curtains but a building blocks the view) Oh. That was supposed to be a dramatic view of the Toronto skyline. We're in Toronto!
Barney: To prove you are as American as apple pie and the childhood obesity it leads to, answer this last question. Who is this? (holds up a picture of Ernest P. Worrell)
Robin: That is the fine actor best known for the "Hey, Vern" series of films. And his name is Jeff Foxworthy.
Barney: Wrong. It's Jim Varney.
Robin: That's Jeff Foxworthy, dumbass! End of story, now shut your stupid face!
Barney: Robin, not only were you wrong, but you belligerently stuck to your guns and insulted me in the process. (salutes) Congratulations, you are an American.
Barney: It's not gonna be easy, like the Canadian citizenship test.
Robin: How do you know the Canadian citizenship test is easy?
Barney: It's Canada! Question One: "Do you want to be Canadian?" Question Two: "Really?"
Robin: Make fun of the great white North all you want, it's the best country in the world.
Barney: Social experiment. (Chanting) U.S.A! U.S.A! U.S.A! (everyone in the bar joins in)
Robin: That doesn't prove anything. People will chant anything. (Chanting) Canada! Canada! (no one joins in) Okay, so they won't chant anything.
Barney: Shrimp fried rice! Shrimp fried rice! Shrimp fried rice! (everyone joins in, Ted comes up)
Ted: Shrimp fried rice, totally!
(in extreme pain, hours after eating at Gazola's Pizza)
Marshall: Gah! My stomach! Damn you Gazola's!
Ted: It's like a hot ball of lead!
Marshall: Baby, cut it out of me!
(Marshall opens his robe, exposing his chest. Lily doesn't know how to react)
Marshall: Cut it out!
Barney: (on helping Robin study for her citizenship test) We'll stay up all night! I'm gonna drill you... and then we're gonna study. No, seriously. We're gonna do some cramming... and then we're gonna study. No, really. We're gonna bone up on—
Barney: Sorry, it's a rich area.
Barney: (on a Canadian $5 bill) There's kids playing hockey on the back. It's like you want us to make fun of you!
