Lily and Marshall are so boring not looking forward to their B story as their stories these days are really uninteresting to me and Lily is so annoying especially after she has to stick her nose in EVERYTHING. E.G. the last episode when she HAD to open her mouth about that proposal that Robin clearly would have told her to keep secret.
Anyway looking forward to what is to come now that Ted has told Robin that he still loves her. For some reason this didn't piss me off. Usually Ted and Robin constantly NOT getting over each other would annoy me but I kind of want to see what's gonna come out of this now
Wow, one of the best episodes all season in my opinion.
I really really liked this one. It was semi funny, but the story was great.
I loved the ending with the music playing and Robin having to move out. The yellow umbrellas were good too.
The beginning with the mother was great as well. I thought that this episode had it all.
One thing I didnt like was at the end when Marshall said 'Not yet'. I would really like for it to just be done with Robin and Ted after this point. Let the story really just move on and hopefully allow Barney and Robin to end up together.
Did someone else saw Conan O'Brien at MacLaren's??
I love being right, check out what I said in last week's episodediscussion... Great... great... GREAT episode.
Loved it, loved it, loved it. I've felt this whole season hasn't lived up to the potential it has really had however after watching it, I can't wait for next week. I've watched the first 4 seasons over the past few days and I have to say, the ending really gave me that feeling I get when I watch those episodes. The B plot was fun as hell. The betting, not so much but Barney searching for the sex tape, hilarious.
Overall, solid episode which leaves me wanting more and I feel the rest of the season will have a strong focus on Ted.
So apparently the good writers got back from vacation or something. This season was really tail spilling for a while there, but this episode has restored some of my faith in the show once more.
When you think about it, this show and the characters have really matured over the last 7 years. I think that's one of the reasons when they try to go for straight humor it no longer works.
Nice to see Conan finally use that "win a chance to be an extra" lot he won at the benefit for playwrights live auction.
As I expected, the opening scenes shot directly at the humour surrounding Ted telling Robin he still loved her but the ending was a real surpise. "Not yet"... What does that mean?!?
It was a good epsiode - funny and really was a milestone episode for the show.
I have seen some articlesgoing around about major spoilers and apparently "oddest transitions ever" with regards to the season finale. Has anyone seen / read these? I haven't since the headline warned of spoilers.
Totally agree with some of the previous comments.
One of the better episodes of the season so far. While it wasn't one of the funniest episodes, it's writing and storytelling were perfect. The whole 'not yet', thing wasn't too bad. While yes, I think that they should finish off the whole Ted and Robin saga, I'm not going to be surprised if we see another episode or two revisit it. Not exactly a rekindling of their relationship, but possibly each of them being reminded of what they had in the past. Or something along those lines =P
As for the Sex tape side story, definitely one of the funnier side stories this season.
Can't wait for the coming weeks. Especially if this builds up to an epic season finale.
I watched this morning. It wasn't that funny, but I really enjoyed it.
I was thinking that one of the reasons that Barney seemed over his love for Robin is because he remembered what happened after he slept with Robin in "Sandcastles in the Sand." Although he said "Bummer" before Ted professed his desire to date Robin, so I may be reading into things that aren't there.
I think the "Not yet" thing is more about the fact that Marshall doesn't want to lose this bet. Keep hope alive until Ted meets the Mother. We know he won't end up with Robin, but Marshall doesn't. Same reason why he told Robin to keep Lily's hairdryer--so he could win the bet that Robin won't return Lily's hairdryer.
No, I think it's over for Ted and Robin, and it won't be explored again. At least, I hope not. If it is, the writers really are writing in circles.

And I saw Conan as well, after people alerted me about it. Although, I did have to go back and make sure I did see him.

aww man this episode was really good! i cried a little I've always been a big ted and robin fan and i thought the last nail on that coffin was that robin was infertile but last episode gave me a little bit of hope, however this episode really did make it seem like robin isn't who ted will end up with i guess a girl can still dream like marshall!
wow this episode has restored a lot of faith for the show for me now. Series 7 has set up a lot of stuff and had stuff explored that had already been explored. They did Robin and Barney again, Barney and Nora again, Robin and Ted again. But this time was different. The episode may not have been too funny but I didn't notice it because the story was so good.
I LOVE TED AGAIN!!!
I got real sick of his constant song and dance with stupid girls and the same girls again and again, but now this really changed his look for me and I loved it.
The ending with the yellow umbrellas was a real nice touch, very clever.
I hope the "Not yet" at the end doesn't imply that this topic of ted and robin is gonna come up AGAIN, if it does I'll be bored and uninterested as there's no need to go back to it. This closure was perfect for their relationship.
Starting to look forward to the rest of the series now
