"When Robin recieves some bad news she decides to lie to the gang. Marshall decorates the house in Long Island for Christmas."

First off, I am dying to find out what the bad news is and if they are actually going to have the character stay pregnant.

And also, I am excited to see what Marshall comes up with for this year's "Winter Wonderland".

Bad news will probably be that she's pregnant.

And I have a strong feeling that this episode will have the flashforward from "The Mermaid Theory", but it's just a feeling and nothing else.

I find it hard to believe that Robin never slept with Kevin. This is the same woman who slept with a naked guy in her apartment just because he was in her apartment naked. Or at least be obsessed why Kevin wasn't sleeping with her.

I personally don't think she's pregnant. According to the released clip, she's only a week late. She hasn't been to a doctor, and she doesn't know for sure. I think she's going to find out that she isn't pregnant. (Different than a false positive. This is a false alarm.)

    *****Spoilers*****

Wow, the episode just started and it's already had one of the most important moments in the entire series.

So Barney definitely is the father.

    This episode made me cry.

I didn't care much for Marshall's subplot, but Robin's A-plot made me cry. It affected me so much...

And, for the first time in a long time, I loved Ted. That ending was so sweet. I want someone to do that for me.

I loved this one (except for Marshall's subplot.)

I agree. Robin's plot was fantastic, while Marshall's was so-so.

I'm not liking the plots involving Lily and Marshall moving to the suburbs. I really don't care, and it's never laugh out loud funny.

One of the funniest moments of the season was when Barney and Robin were in the washroom at the very beginning of the episode.

Does anyone know if there's a new episode next Monday or when the next new episode is?

This was the winter finale. New episodes won't be until January.

It is becoming more likely that Barney's sister will be the mother.

Well that was expectedly disappointing. Ted was very likable in this episode.

Wow. I really don't know what to think about this episode. TOTALLY UNPREDICTABLE, first of all. Right from the beginning to the end.

I always knew that the writers would never change that aspect of Robin's character. That's why I was so surprised when they "revealed" that she was "pregnant." And then the opening of this episode?? OH MY GOD. That shocked the hell out of me. And then the disappearance of the "figures"at the end... painful, yet true to Robin's character.

A lot of shows/movies seemed to be very biased with the whole family dynamic. you know - EVERY once-independent woman has to end uploving children and wanting some of her own, EVERYONE ends up married with kids even if they didn't want kids before ("The Family Man" starring Nicholas Cage comes to mind). And the reality is that it's not for everyone.

I'll be honest. I wanted Robin to be one of those independent women who turn around to actually want a family and children and motherhood, but... it is what it is.

    SPOILERRR:

I did find it strangely convenient that shewasn't actually ABLE to have kids. I mean, a character who doesn't really want kids ends up not even being able to have kids?? The writing kind of showed through at that point - took me out of the show for a second.

Also, the way she said "I'm glad you guys are not real" was either a little too harsh or revealed that she still wasn't completely over it and might still have wanted kids. But something tells me that she won't be having kids at all, even though the episode was left somewhat ambiguous due to her facial expressions and sad attitude about the whole thing...

I liked this one. I can't say I loved it like a lot of other people did I did like this one.

Lily and Marshall... dumb. A waste of my time.

Insane Duane or Dwayne and his wife. kinda made my head hurt. Seriously he's two feet away from you and he couldn't remember your name when you told him 30 seconds ago.

Ted I liked. And He's right. He's her friend and a friends job is to cheer his other friends up.

Barney. Liked his first two jokes. Rest of the episode... on the fence.

Robin and the episode as a whole. I only started enjoying when she was given her second set of news. Because that's a plot in fiction I find fascinating, and I really wanted to see how this type of news affected her, because it's a plot that I think is rarely used (thankfully) and can develop characters really well if done properly, reveals new depth to your characters. And it didn't disappoint it focused on her emotions and her mindset which it should have.

People thought she was harsh and cold for never wanting kids. I'm guessing that Robin thinks that thoroughly reinforcing that idea to herself is probably the only way for her to cope and try and clear her head.

Overall I ended up liking this one a lot more than I have as of late. For me personally not quite as good as little Minnesota as a HIMYM Christmas episode goes but still very good. Best of the season so far by a wide margin.

so now there's a high probability that Barney ends up marrying Robin

liked the episode, not that funny except the scene in the bathroom but it's very emotional especially focusing on Robin which is my second best favorite character after Barney, as usual Marshall's part wasn't good

too bad we're gonna wait a month for another episode and I guess this could be the last season of the series

I love that you said this about Robin, because I couldn't agree more. She also slept with Ted's "assistant" just because he was there. Heck, she and Tedstarted sleeping together as roommates just so they wouldn't fight!? So, she doesn't have sex with her boyfriend? That seems ludicrous.

And am I the only person that when they are a day late would be peeing on the stick? I mean, if you're in front of the firing squad, you might get hit.

Agreed Kat. Marshall's subplot was okay, but Robin's was so well told. I even like the way they told it. And that Ted didn't do the comfort food, just the comfort. That was sweet.

Guys who say that it is IMPOSSIBLE for Ted and Robin to end up together: don't you see what this episode does? This sets up that there is a chance Ted and Robin end up together. Think about it, Robin can't have kids, but he is still married to her. He is telling his kids the story of how he met their "mother" who is just a surrogate mother. I'm not saying that this is going to happen but it is a possibility don't you think?

I knew that after this episode there would be people who'll see some hope for Ted and Robin! For the love of God get over the fact that Ted and Robin won't ever end up together....Why would Ted even bother telling his kids the story about how he met their "surrogate mother", it doesn't make any sense! He tells his kids about how wonderful their mother is, how she laughed at all of his jokes, how she played bass guitar, loved dogs and had all the qualities he wanted in a woman...And how could we possibly believe that this woman just turned out to be the woman who bore his children?? So all this time he was describing this wonderful woman who he did not end up with! Usually a surrogate mother is not that important for her to be telling a story this long!

It just doesn't make any sense to me, with all do respect!!!
