Part One: ''As Ted and Robin try to help Lily get through her contractions, Marshall struggles to get back to New York City before she gives birth.''

Part Two: "At Barney's future wedding, everyone remembers when they made Ted go after a girl who'd gotten away."

I like it that it is a douple finale like with part one and part two (ON THE SAME NIGHT) Smile

also in the second part we get to see scenes of Barney's wedding again!

In season 6, episode 21 (Hopeless). Barney and "Crazy Jerry" have a discussion towards the end. People seem to doubt Barney is eventually going to settle down. Barney pretty much asked Jerry "how he did it?".How was he able to settle down. Not 100% sure on the exact quote but he said something along the lines of, A magician never reveals his secret. But when you meet the right girl, it makes it so much easier. Has he been with a lot of girls since Nora-Robin-Quinn? Looking forward to the finale, sucks we have to wait until the 14th, but at least it will be two episodes. Also... there is a character named Zelda in the finale...

Wow, already down to the two last episodes of the season. Felt not that long ago since the season even started...

I like that it's two episodes. Much more content and ensures that it won't be too rushed. I don't like that we'll have to wait a full week between episodes, but oh well.

The name Zelda is pretty strange...

I agree putting a 'game' name into the story of them sounds strange...Maybe she just loves Zelda the game, so she wants to be called Zelda, as a nickname or something like that.Tongue out

I just hope they won't rush the story of the baby being delievered, like they did with the green dress and the casino scene :S

otherwise I'm looking forward seeing the episode Smile

It's said been said that Marshall's last cigarette was the day his son was born, and if that's this episode, then I doubt that this "Zelda" character will be the son of Marshall and Lily. Perhaps it's a stripper name to do with Barney and Quin's storyline

I was under the impression that we would be at Barney's wedding in realtime, but I guess it makes sense that it would be a flash forward considering how recent his current relationship is. That makes me think it's not Quinn who he marries. I'm still frustrated as I really think the writers owe it to the fans to reveal the mother. Even if she is revealed to us but Ted doesn't meet her yet. Or even if she is revealed to us but maybe in a group so we don't know who exactly she is. Like if we find out she is a bridesmaid and we see a group of all the bridesmaids. I love the show but just getting so frustrated at the same time

Any guesses on Baby Eriksen's name?

Obviously the odds on favourite is Hurricane. I know Lily doesn't like it but she may change her mind after he's born.

A likelihoodof Marvin in there somewhere. Middle name at least.

    Any other guesses?

Anyone else thinks Victoria is the 'one who got away'. They only revealed earlier that she was 'probably' engaged. Doubt that she's the mother but think she'll be part of this episode

Really excited for the episodes tonight.

I'm still thinking that Robin will be Baryney's wife. I don't really like Quinn or Nora.

I have no idea what to say. I honestly can't tell at this point if I loved it or hated it. I suspect this is due to the fact that I felt both ways at varying points. I can, however, say with certainty that the ending was a complete kick in the genitals.

... 1. Very upset with Barney's bride. 2. Victoria can't be the mother. We've known about her since season 1.

I might be in the minority here, but Barney & Robin don't do anything for me. And I don't really understand why they brought Victoria back, when we all know Ted meets the mother at Barney/Robin's wedding.

I did enjoy the magic trick proposal and the 'wait for it...' middle name segments though.

Random though though: Kinda weird Lily was in a hot pink bridesmaids dress when she went in to tell Ted the bride wanted to see him, considering both Ted/Marshall didn't have any crazy colors on, and Robin's wedding dress was a typical color.

    Bait and switch?

Or....I'm just reading too much into it. Damn writers make me do this lol

I'm extremely happy with these two episodes. I know they've just ended, but right now I consider this one of the best, if not thee best season finale yet. Edit: Actually come to think of it, the one where Ted proposed to Stella was better at the time imo.

What I've wanted all along, for a couple years now, has come true. Barney and Robin will be getting married. That just seems right. Staying inside the group, but still finding the mother for Ted. Plus next season we will see how it went from Barney being happilyengaged and Robin being "Happy" for him to Barney and Robin becoming a couple again.

Now obviously Victoria can't be the mother, but since she was my favourite of all of Ted's girlfriends I'm really happy that she will be back in Season 8. Unless the writers pull some sort of trick and make it so that she can be the mother some how (Which I would be OK with). Again, we will just have to wait and see.

Plus these episodes were funny. The best middle name of all time (Considering changing my name), the way that Barney proposed, the Door, and various other parts were pretty funny.

To me it seems like the series will have a happy ending which is what I've wanted from the beginning.

    I really liked the finale.

I know Ted is supposed to meet his future wife at Barney's wedding, but we all know through experience that Ted's an unreliable narrator. And I'm not saying I definitely think the writers will use that to smooth that detail over, but has Victoria been explicitly disqualified for any reason other than that one?

I loved the whole Marshall/Lily story. Robin really didn't have a major story. Carter and Craig keep beating the dead horse that is Victoria. I liked the Neil/Magic proposal.

In season 4 "Shelter Island" Ted tells his kids to never invite an ex on the wedding and in this ep future Ted says its a wedding that went horribly wrong so Barney and Robin won't work out. I'm torn. The "Door" story was my favorite.
