Marshall gets to his new internship and Barney introduces him to his new co-workers in the Legal Department. Instantly, the guys from the legal department pose a very shallow minded, womanizing, yet, hilarious question to Marshall.
The guys in the legal department begin to antagonize Marshall and he grows very unhappy with his coworkers. He goes to Barney and is told that he needs to conform to survive the internship. After Marshall begins to conform to them, he starts liking them, and acting like them, much to Lily's dismay.
As this all is going on, Ted is consulting Robin on his relationship woes with Victoria. Victoria has been in Germany for a while now and he's afraid that she's going to dump him. On top of that, he feels guilty that she has been sending him great 'care packages' and he's not been sending him anything. It's rather funny that Robin's jealousy starts showing through in some of her answers. It seems as if she wants Ted and Victoria to break up.
Lily's dismay with Marshall finally comes to a head while the two of them are in a karaoke bar with Barney and the other guys from the office. Lily tells Marshall that he needs to just be himself and that it doesnt matter what he can offer to her. She loves him for him.
Eventually, after a long day at work, Robin goes home somewhat depressed and somewhat thoughtful and calls Ted wanting to know if he wanted to come over. It was 2am......
