  • The gang goes to a museum.

"Natural History" is an amazing How I Met Your Mother episode! I love how Zoey was at the museum and she gets Ted to say that he hates GNB and she records him saying it. Ted was funny when he was yelling stuff and it echoed and people were just staring. Marshall and Lily fighting was sad, but I love how she talked to college Marshall, and she made up with current Marshall. I love how Barney and Robin started touching all the things in the museum and they find out that Barney's father is Jerome Whittaker. I give this episode a 9/10.

  • Hey, that actually got some of the early seasons' magic back.

And that hadn't happened in a while. The jokes, running and otherwise were mostly funny, the plot developments set up upcoming events, which hadn't happened in a while and Jennifer Morrison and Josh Radnor actually had some chemistry going for a change. And, while I kind of hate the guest star of the week thing HIMYM has devolved into, Kyle MacLachlan made for a surprisingly good character. He was funny and over the top, but he was allowed to show a glimpse of heart and depth, which comedy often forgets to do. Overall, this was much closer to the tone that made the show a hit in the first place than most of the last couple of seasons. And Cobie Smulders continues to be sexy and funny and a great foil for Neil Patrick Harris, after the extremely weird things she was forced to do to keep working through pregnancy last season.

I think a cautious request for more of that is in order, but the popular opinion that this show should willingly wrap up and move on is not swayed by this. There aren't three more seasons worth of content here, it needs to set a date and go for it.
  • Really funny episode!

This was definitely a very hilarious episode of How I Met Your Mother. The gange went to the Natural History Museum, where a lot of interesting things happened. The storyline with Zoey develops furhter, and I am really enjoying that storyline, as it has been very great so far!

The best part of the episode, by far, was the scenes with Robin and Barney touching all of the 'Do Not Touch' exhibits in the museunm. That was absolutely hilarious, as well a huge revelation that coul d definitely change Barney's life!

Keep it up, HIMYM! The show is definitely on the up, and I hope it continues that way! Great work, guys!
  • Bringing How I Met Your Mother Back, one sandwich at a time.

This episode was superb. THE GOOD:

    - How well this episode was thought-out. The location was vital to every plot, and it was used really well.

    - Robin is finally Robin again.

    - Barney finding out who his father was

    - Zoey wasn't awful in this episode. Still not great, but not terrible.

    - Kyle MacLachlan and his character. So much fun to watch.

    - College Marshall and Lily's talk

    - All the references to old episodes to reward the people who have followed the show from the start: Cockamouse, Sandwiches, Scooter, Marshall wanting to be an environmental lawyer (which hasn't been mentioned since season 3), Lawyered, and so on.

    - No Becky

THE BAD: - The Barney/Robin sequence got a bit old.

    - So did Ted and the gonads.

    - Still not lovin' Zoey

This episode was fantastic, fun to watch, and a real reward to How I Met Your Mother Fans.

So how awesome was this episode? It was amazingly eventful and even though some scenes were over the top and unrealistic, I've gotten used to it, and I just enjoyed the plots that were going on. How I Met Your Mother seems to be tying up loose ends going on throughout the series.

I wouldn't cry too hard if this was the final season, cutting the series short shouldn't be too bad when it comes to quality. Plots such as Barney realizing that his uncle was actually his father, or a possibility of Zoey & Ted getting together with that look they gave each other in the end, and the future Marshall not being corporate Marshall.

The last scene gave me chills, something this show hasn't done since "Shelter Island." It was such a great tie in with Corporate Marshall being in the display room as "history." Robin & Barney touching things wasn't the best plot but it definitely paid off in the end, again, I found myself feeling bad for Barney just like I did in "Cleaning House."

Overall a great episode, and I really enjoyed the development here, this episode actually managed to have some emotion. Great installment here.
  • Pretty amazing episode. Easily the best among the last two seasons.

Well.. season 5 was pretty dry and while season 6 of How I Met Your Mother was not exactly top notch, the focus on story progression was very applaud-worthy. We have had memorable episodes like 'Subway Wars' and 'Architect of Destruction' with other episodes easily towering over everything season 5 had to offer. Also there were memorable moments like Barney attempting to fit in with James and his father, Barney seducing Ted, Boats.. Boats. Boats.. etc but still there was nothing comparable to season 1,2,3 or even 4. Well at-least until now. This episode is very well-paced, good story as well as a nice shock moment for the most popular character of the show. I was very glad the way they finally showed some closure to Marshal's environmental dreams, though Lily opposing him and calling him a sell-out, while only three years before, she was goading him to get the job at the corporate firm, was really weird. The Zoey character, though very annoying, promises to be a decent love interest to Ted for the time being.

Also, Kyle MacLachlan as the Captain was pretty impressive as the funny rich guy with a golden heart. Hope Zoey doesnt break his heart and date Ted.

Quite fun episode especially the end.

That episode totally rocked, it felt like the old good ones when you could laugh, and be touched at the same time, it was the old magic of HIMYM. The magic is restored and I love it.

Barney and Robin always rocking my world, as for Barney, well I said Barney, enough said... And talking about Robin, the chemistry with Barney is always something keep you watching; just love their scenes together, mostly this time. First they had a childish awesome challenge that was hilarious to watch, then it went from funny to dramatic when Barney knows the truth about his father-who he never met or even know his name before, and that was a whole new shock for him, I'm dying now to know what will happen with this plot, it's the long lost dad, and after Barney made peace with not knowing him, it popped out of no where.

Ted and Zoe, Zoe is so annoying, I love her!!! The contrast between the trophy wife and the strike all the time girl is interesting, let's see what Zoe will bring us next time...

Marshal and Lilly, it was so sweet, Lilly was so mad when Marshal told her he likes his work in GNB but then she realized that no one stays like they were in college forever, adding another dimension to their relationship, they have been always the sweetest thing. Sums it up, this was a LEGEN-wait for it-DARY episode!!! :)

This episode, in my opinion, was simply brilliant.

I liked that this episode again focussed on all the characters, each pairing having their own sub-stories that made the episode work so well.

Ted and Zoey are awesome in their scenes together, the chemistry is there and i love the love-hate relationship between them, plus the fact she is married (to a bit of an ass) just adds a whole interesting dimension to the relationship and i can't wait to see how it pans out.

The Lily and Marshall story was good as well and i loved the end when it said that "Corporate Marshall" was going to become extinct. The creators of the show are doing a lot of great things like this in this season, little hints about the future like the wedding in the future in the first episode, and i'm loving trying to figure it all out.

Now to my favourite two. Barney and Robin's interaction was wonderful. It was so like them to have a competition to see who could touch the most things just because they weren't supposed to (something which i'm sure we can all relate to ;D). I love that these two are back to their normal selves around each other because the friendship is simply irreplacable. The added thing of Barney knocking down the blue whale was great, just adding to his awesomeness and i was so glad they made it so he wasn't lying to them in the beginning. Another great Barney part was the bit about his father. I love seeing that vulnerable side to Barney every now and again and i think it was perfect the Robin was the one with him when that happened.

Overall, wonderful character interaction, good progress in the seperate relationships and an altogether brilliant episode!
