  • Ted disobeys his mother.

    "Great"
Ted's mom once told him, "Nothing good happens after 2 A.M. When it's past 2 A.M., just go to sleep." Boy, does Ted wish he have an "Undo" button or what? But to the beginning, Robin has invited Ted over for "some juice." but Ted and his friends know it's an opportunity for Ted to finally have sex with who used to be his dream girl. He doesn't listen to their advice either, (just go home!) and he arrives at Robin's. But before they can do much more than make out, Ted goes to the bathroom to call Victoria. (She was supposed to have called him earlier) Then, a phony Victoria that Ted has hallucinated multiple times reappears and makes him realize that he picked up the wrong phone. (He and Robin now have the same phone) Ted exits the bathroom to see a shocked Robin who just got off Ted's phone with his girfriend. Ted had just lied that he had already broken up with Victoria when he hadn't. That sets off the saddest moment of Season 1 and Top 5 at least in the entire series. While Robin Hackett performs "Hard Left" in the background, Ted is scene riding home in a taxi, ending things officially with Victoria. Meanwhile, Barney is set to prove Lily and Marshall wrong that good things can happen after 2. In a relatively boring subplot, it ultimately ends in a Korean Elvis impersonator getting kicked in the nards by Lily. Another good, but sad episode.
  • Could be leading up to a very disappointing season finale

    "Poor"
This was a very annoying episode because Robin had her chance with Ted and she chose not to go for it so I think it's in very poor taste that she's chasing after him now when he has a girlfriend, albeit a long distance one. Ted is a moron if he goes for Robin because she only wants him now because he's unavailable (a concept that turns my stomach!) I am curious as to what the next episode leads up to because you know Victoria is going to want to know what the hell Ted was doing at Robin's at 2am. If Ted has any sense at all, he'll work things out with Victoria and tell Robin "too little, too late." Worst episode ever!!!
  • Ted likes Robin but needs to break up with Victoria.

"Nothing Good Happens After 2 A.M." is an awesome How I Met Your Mother episode. I love how Robin asks Ted to come over and Ted agrees to avoid Victoria's break up call. I love how he sees Victoria, but it's really his subconscious and so he's having a conversation with himself. I love how he calls Marshall to see what he should do and Lily tells him about Robin's feelings for him and so he promises not to go see Robin. I love how Barney and Marshall know that Ted's going to see Robin anyways. I love how Barney thinks that good things can happen after 2AM by inviting the Korean Elvis impersonator to come with them to MacLaren's. I love how the Elvis guy whispers something in Lily's ear and she kicks him in the groin. Then the ending of this episode is just sad because at this point you want Ted and Robin to hookup. And then Robin has Ted's cell phone and she finds out that Ted didn't break up with Victoria. And even though I like Victoria, even her character isn't coming back, then I'm glad they broke up. I give this episode a 9.5/10.

  • Victoria deserved much better.

It was a good episode but it breaks my heart that more than likely we will never see Victoria again. I can\'t believe I fell in love with a fictional character. I can actually say that she was perfect. Ted will more than likely never meet anyone like her again.

What made Victoria so great was her bubbly personality. The wedding episode showed she was a very interesting character. She\'s level headed and knew what she wanted. I\'m guessing the whole \"let\'s have fun and never see each other again\" was a test to see if Ted was a keeper, and at the time it seemed like he was.

She seemed confident and secure of herself. She never saw Ted\'s \"former\" feelings for Robin as a threat seeing how she was living in the now. I think their relationship would have lasted a lot longer if she would have stayed. Who knows; she might have been the mother.

We don\'t really know if Victoria was going to call Ted to break up with him. This is only an assumption on his behalf. She might have wanted to talk to him saying that she was coming back and misses him.

Ted felt alone for too long and sought comfort in Robin. I personally believe his relationship with Robin is forced based on the thought that he wants to get married and they share common interests. The fact that Victoria was a cat person makes it interesting and their relationship transpired naturally (in a matter of speaking).

Even when Ted\'s subconscious came to play as a portrayal of Victoria, I believe she reacted the same way her normal self would have reacted to the situations that were about to take place. She seemed calm in Ted\'s head. I would have thought he would have portrayed her as angry and hurt. Although she did seem hurt.

Ted was just filling a void. It hurts to see him let her go. I still believe she was a better match than Robin. He\'ll never meet anyone like her again. I hope she makes an appearance in the second season.
  • A really funny episode! Ted is hunted and Lily shows us how tough she is. Nice done!

Was this the point where this show turns from a comedy sitcom into a drama sitcom? I hope not, even though I think that wouldn’t harm this show.

The best at this episode? It’s really funny again!

The situation of Ted is just hilarious. Especially his subconscious is great.

I liked most the guest appearance of Alexis Denishof. He was so cool, almost brilliant in his offering. You know when you know him only from Buffy/Angel, it’s even funnier!

Also great was the Korean Elvis: I really would like to know what he told Lily. I also can’t wait till we find out how Robin and Ted will react when they hear the story. That will be fun.

I think Victoria is now gone maybe forever, *sniff*.

I really missed the kids in this episode. I think they would have been perfect in here.
  • Robin has a bad day and needs a friend, not man's best friend. Woman's best friend.

    Terrific episode!

Robin has a terrible day, emotionally. She gets propositioned at work. She gets per life picked apart by little kids.

Then, still awake late that night and sipping red wine, she gets an inspiration and calls Ted.

Since Ted is not completely available himself, that poses some problems. There are some really great twists to this episode.

For one thing, Ted has the same model of phone as Robin has. This turns into an interesting plot device.

This episode was kind of tragic. Robin clearly winds up getting hurt and Ted winds up kind of stunned. The real victim doesn't even appear in the show.

Despite the lack of a happy ending, there were some good jokes. When Ted calls his friends for advice on what to do, for instance, it is just classic.

The moral of the title of the episode was proven, which is nice writing.

Ted found out how Robin felt about him, finally. Robin found out that Ted was definitely attracted to her. Their two characters were easy to empathize and sympathize with.

This story showed that although love does not always prevail, maybe sometimes - at least in the short run - that is for the best. It seemed very well written.
  • Ted has to decide whether to take his chances with Robin once he finds out she has feelings for him, or be true to his long distance girlfriend.

Definitely, one of the more sadder episodes of this series. All the episodes up to this had us laughing so hard, but this was more toned down. At the end, we couldn't believe that Ted loses both the girls. As he lies to one, and was almost unfaithful to another, very painful to watch the two of them walking away from each other. However, Marshall, Barney and Lily did provide occasional laughs throughout the episode. A really importanat episode if you're following the love story line.

This episode is about Ted having to choose beetween waiting for his long distance girlfriend to call or coming over to Robins. All episode long Ted reminds us of what his grandma use to say "nothin good happens after 2 am." In the end well I dont wanna spoil dis for you so u just gonna have to watch in order to find out how it ended.
  • Great episode. A lot of progress is made.

This is a continuation from the pervious episode “Life Among the Gorillas”. And is does not disappoint. This episode proves to be everything one could expect and more. It seems clear in this installment that Robin and Ted will finally get together. This is the moment that seemingly everyone had been waiting for. But things are not that simple. Complications arise that keep our power couple apart once again. One of the funniest things in this episode is “Korean Elvis”. He is so randomly hilarious. This is one of the things that writers must be credited for including. Its not brilliant or anything, but he made me laugh as did this episode. Highly recommended.

After having quite a rough day and being a little drunk, Robin calls Ted in the middle of the night and asks him if he wants to come over to her place. Ted, of course, says that he will come. On his way to Robin's apartment, Ted starts to ask himself if it is okay to go to Robin since he still has got his girlfriend Victoria and asks his friends for advice. Great episode the Korean Elvis was great he was hilarous, It was great when Lily hit him in the nackers really funny stuff, it was sad when Ted screwed everything up.
  • Will Ted & Robin finally be together?

    9.1
    "Superb"
Not likely, considering the events that take place after 2AM. In continuation to Robin calling Ted over. The first 6 minutes was just a long stretched out recap of the last episode, and previous episodes that featured Victoria before it cut to commercial. So Ted makes a stupid decision and goes over Robin's while he's still with Victoria. Meanwhile Barney tries to prove to Marshall & Lilly that good things do happen after 2AM. Which in some ways he was right, since Lilly kicked some guy in the nads. A memorable moment from that night. On the other hand, things don't go so well for Ted. When he lies to Robin and says he broke up with Victoria, something he eventually will do. But can't do it that night while with Robin. Does that make him a cheater? I like how one mention that Ted & Robin have the same phone developed in to such a good twist. Ted never got Victoria's call because he had Robin's phone by mistake. Robin gets the call from Victoria, realizing that Ted had lied. At least they got to make out, but that's as far is it's going to get. As the night ends in a breakup, and 2 hurt people going to bed. The Victoria arc was at least closed with a decent plot. Not like "Oh long distance sucks, lets break up". A good plot, but I can't help to feel bad for Ted & Robin. Or Victoria, for that matter. I liked the fact that Victoria returned as Ted's subconscious. Good plot based on a lesson. Excited to see what happens next.
  • Interesting, but random!

This was a decent addition to the 'How I Met Your Mother' series, with a good storyline, although it was a slightly confusing and droll one, at some points.

I didn't really enjoy this idea of 'nothing good happens after 2A.M.' and that did takie something away from the epsiode, but it certaiinly was packed full of some terrific laughs, and this was the great part of it!

In addition, the storyline with Marshall & Lily & Barney was no t that interesting wither, with the 'Korean Elvis'. It did provide some laughs, but I found it to be completely purposeless in the leong run.

The best part is how this episode finished, which leaves a lot of questions to be answered in the next season.

Hope for this show to get a little better before nesxt week!
  • Does anyone know what the final song was when Ted was in the cab on the way back from Robin's apartment? the lyrics were something like "Saying i'm sorry till I'm blue in the face..." Let me know, please! email me @ KouldBe@gmail.com

  • Obviously This Episode Was Written After 2am. Understandabely the Ted Robyn Relatinoship Needs To Be Dealt With. In Dealing With It You Don't Need To Slow Down The Entire Show.

    "Good"
Let me start by saying I love this show, the characters, the writing, the storylines, the comedy as well as the romance, BUT the last two episodes have left me feeling like nothing really happened. This Episode sepcifically; re-cap:we learn robyn had a bad day-she calls ted-ted spends about 23 minutes deciding to break up with his gf to "do" robyn by talking to his imaginary gf-ted and robyn kiss-ted decides to cheat-robyn kicks him out-ted breaks up with victoria. Why dind't I like this episode as much as previous ones?, you might ask. I love that Ted and Robyn almost got together and I was happy when they kissed, on the other hand we all know Robyn and Ted don't end up together so whats the point? The appearence by Alexis Denisof which I had been looking forward to for 2 weeks while the show was not running new episodes turned out to be about 10 seconds long and he was exactly like Barney. Why bring on another character to mimic someone you already have. Another thing that bothered me Lily Marshal and Barney were in the episode for a grand total of 6 minutes...its an ensemble cast show, ala seinfeld and friends, you can't just ignore the other main characters. The Last problem I had was that the writing in the past two episodes has been okay at best(korean elvis). This went from an superbly new, ultra funny, great ensemble show to a sad, poorly written, love story, and I just hope that in the future episodes things will go back to normal.
  • This episode was simply the most painful episode i've ever seen with this series. Very revealing though.

This episode picked up where "Gorillas" left off.

Ted was wrestling with going over to Robin's after she called him asking him to come over.

The reason Robin called Ted is that she had a very bad day and realized at the end of the day the only one she wanted to see was Ted.

Against the advice of Marshall and Lily (and Ted's mom's advice that 'nothing ever good happens after 2am') - Ted went over to Robin's after Victoria didn't call Ted.

Ted got over to Robin's apartment under the premise that she 'just got a new juicer' and wanted Ted to try some juice.

It was just a painful episode to watch.

Ted and Robin got their phones mixed up and when Ted went to the bathroom to sort out his thoughts after lying to Robin that Ted and her broke up, Victoria called, and Robin thinking that it was her phone, answered it.l

When Ted walked out of the bathroom he realizezd that Robin had his phone, and, Robin threw his phone at him, and said "your girlfriend just called"

Watching Ted and Robin go their seperate ways just hurt.

This will be a test of their friendship without a doubt, and, makes me look forward to the next show and the next season even more...
