    **Spoilers*

The usual humor of the show was pretty much absent for this episode. The funniest part was Marshall's mother and brother repeatedly listening in on his conversation. The Zoey/Ted relationship is the worst possible direction for this show. It was predictable (as much of this season has been) and very poorly executed. Zoey's character is not engaging, likable or even interesting. This is actually worse than revisiting the Robin/Ted relationship again! I think that the writer's are running out of ideas for where to take this show in hopes of prolonging its life. As much as I loved the other seasons, I think it's time to wrap it up.

*update* Just to add. I don't think Zoey will be revealed as "the mother" for a couple of reasons. In the first episode from this season Ted says that he met their mother at "the wedding" which I am assuming is the wedding of his friend Punchy. If he claims to have met her then, how could it be Zoey? Unless they try and pull a "he didn't know he loved her until that moment and realized he was going to marry her" sort of moments, thus creating some sort of "re-meeting" her scenario (which I really don't think they would do.) The second reason that I say Zoey is not the mother is because in a previous episode (from season 3 I believe. Called No Tomorrow) Ted is celebrating on St.Patrick's Day at a club or bar and that is where he finds the yellow umbrella (that supposedly belongs to the mother) and while he is at that club he randomly bumps into some lady. Why is that significant for them to show? Because she's the mother. A later episode will reveal this. That is my guess. :)

Wow, this really is shaping up to be one of my favorite seasons of this show, and this late in the game, it really is astonishing. Now we know that Zoey isn't the mother since Ted meets his soul mate at a wedding, but man, was this episode heart warming. The editing, the fast cuts, the writing, acting, the non-annoying appearance by Katy Perry (unlike Britney Spears). This was just great television.

It seems like the writers are just at a really creative time in their careers (that wasn't when they were writing season 5 but I digress). The whole episode happening over a phone conversation and managing to include each and every character over the phone line and still managing to connect it to the loss of Marshall's father (why Marshall was in Minnesota).

We even got development with Barney and his father, as it turns out, he sent him a letter. The end really was unexpected, I loved the scene in which Marshall cuts the string between the Captain & Zoey, just a great scene. Overall, just a superb episode to this superb season.

"Oh Honey" is an awesome How I Met Your Mother episode. I really like how they had Marshall still mourning but the episode did not focus on that at all. Katy Perry's character was funny. I love how everyone was like "oh honey" to her, but then when she was alone with Barney, she kept saying "oh honey" to him. I love how Barney mentions that he tried to contact his father. I love how Marshall sets up Zoey and Ted saying that they both have feelings for each other. I give this episode a 9/10.

  • That was exceptionally funny!

Before I comment on the episode, Im gona list the funny Katy Perry quotes:

Honey: My landlord has so many security measures in place - he even has a security camera in my shower!

Honey: I don't feel very comfortable about giving my Scoial Security Number to people, but this guy's a Nigerian Prince!

Honey: I just got cast onto Lost!

Katy Perry was very funny everywhere in the episode! It really made this one a very memorbale episode, and I really recommend it!

It was also a turning point in Ted's relationship with Zoe, and I am intrigued to see what will happen from this point forht.

Good job, HIMYM, this was a huge improvement on its predecessor, and I was very impressed! Please keep this standard going into the future, and I can't wait for more!

This episode wasn't exactly amazing but it did a fair bit for the season. The Zoe(y) story line has finally been given some real weight after a lot of "what exactly is going on here?" Katy Perry was basically just a ratings boosting cameo, and the role really could have been played by anyone. That being said, she did a fairly decent job of not feeling too forced. Hasn't been the best season of How I Met Your Mother so far and this wasn't the best episode, but the season is finally finding legs over the last few episodes and maybe it'll get to as good as it has been again soon enough.

I was a bit skeptical about Katy Perry guest staring and in fact I was wrong. The part of Honey was made for her and she was pretty good! This episode was pretty interesting by his construction around the phone conversations with Marshall. And the ending was something that I was no longer expecting and that brings a lot of nice stories for the future.

So it was a nice episode. No more sad stories and instead we have sweet ones. It was a good transition between the two episodes about Marshall's dad death and some funnier episodes. I was happy that we find the old sweet Ted and not the jerk he could be sometimes!!!

OK, first of all, Princess Rusty, you obviously don't know good TV when you see it. This episode was extremely funny and touching. The whole thing was hilarious, the only thing I thought was a little tacky was when Marshall's mother and brother kept interrupting his phone conversations. Which, btw, Princess Rusty thought was the only funny part of the episode. I think a Ted and Zoe relationship would be great for the show. Who's to say that Zoe isn't the "mother?" Plus to top off a wonderful story line they added Katy Perry. How can you get any better?

The episode was well done with the way they interlaced Zoe and Ted's developing relationship with the introduction of her cousin Honey (played by Katy Perry). While it did not seem like much of a stretch for Katy Perry to be playing a bimbo, I don't think she pulled her part off nearly as well as Britney Spears did in Season 3. I really enjoyed the way the writers had the story slowly develop with each of our main characters adding a little more to the story along with giving us their version. The last question: How is Ted going to screw this one up?

Katy Perry guest starred in this episode and did not detract from it as much as most singers do (Britney Spears, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Lopez etc.) but I hope she realizes that significant acting roles are not in her future.

The episode was really not that terrible, I guess Zoey and Ted finally getting together was a good moment, but this show is just not funny. I am sorry but a "hurts donut" reference in 2011 is not even something you'd see on a Disney Channel show. So, while the premise may have been good, I can't in good faith give this a good score if it did not have a single laugh in it.
