Older Ted – "In the weeks leading up to Aunt Lily and uncle Marshall's wedding, some weird stuff started happening." 2007 – Lily mentions that her stomach is hurting and Marshall feels the same thing too. Barney offers that they are co-dependent and gives an example. Barney asks about their plan to not sleep together for two weeks prior to the wedding, but Marshall tries to give them excuses. When everyone else challenges them to sleep apart until the wedding, they reluctantly agree. Lily is talking to her mom and is freaking out about what her mother suggested for music. Marshall and Barney are playing XBox 360 and Lily asks Marshall to not forget to pack her "night-night" tape. Barney makes fun of it. When Lily mentions things that are on her wedding registry, Barney takes the opportunity to brush up on his price guessing skills. Barney then tells Ted that he is going to be on The Price is Right. Everyone is excited for him and he tells them about the reason why The Price is Right is an awesome show. Older Ted – "The Lily headed out to Robin's for her first night away from Marshall." Lily tries on her wedding dress and practices her wedding march, but there is a wardrobe malfunction and Lily's dress falls down since it is a sleeveless gown. Older Ted – "Meanwhile, I was testing my best man toast on Marshall." Ted begins his toast and in it he recounts when Marshall got pulled over for driving in a carpool lane. The police thought that he was by himself, but Lily sat up, but Marshall doesn't think that it is an appropriate story to tell at his wedding since his family will be attending. Barney comes in hooting and hollering, but doesn't say what he is so excited about. Barney finally explains that he is practicing for when he is called to be a contestant on The Price is Right. Lily talks to the dress store and tells them that she has lost too much weight and needs her dress fixed. Robin explains that she will just have to eat whatever she wants to gain weight. Robin and Lily leave to raid Robin's kitchen. Ted tries his toast again, but adds in a story about them being high on drugs, which is when Marshall first told Lily that he loved her. Marshall tells him that he can't tell that story because his mom will be disappointed. The guys meet up with the girls at the bar and Ted is surprised that they were apart for one night and didn't greet each other excitedly. Older Ted – "Now, the one thing I remember about the bar menu at McLaren's is that there were no fewer than 11 different deep-fried appetizers. That night, Aunt Lily ordered all of them." Barney joins the group at the table with a wheel from a bike and tests out his wheel turning abilities. When he gets close, he gets upset at himself and says that close won't get him into the Showcase Showdown. Barney explains that the reason why he is going on The Price is Right and he thinks that his father is Bob Barker.
Everyone is confused as to why he thinks that Bob Barker is his father so he explains that his mother told him. His plan is to tell Bob Barker that he is his son, but no one believes him. Robin interrupts and tells them that she is in charge of making Lily gain weight. Lily weighs herself at the apartment and she has lost 1 pound, so Robin makes her shove her face full of fudge. Ted then tries to go over another story in his toast which includes them drinking milk at the bar. Marshall thanks his parents for teaching him good values and that you don't have to drink to have fun. Older Ted – Now, I wasn't supposed to hear this next part, but Marshall leaned over to Lily and whispered." He whispered that he would like to hold her hand, but in a sexual way. Older Ted – "A little later, Robin caught them holding hands." Ted finishes his story and Marshall thinks the toast is too boring. Lily gives up trying to gain weight and Marshall has pains in his stomach. Then, two weeks later, Ted gives his toast and it explains how he was having a hard time trying to tell the perfect Lily and Marshall moment. Ted tells them that the perfect Lily and Marshall moment happened two nights prior to the wedding. Marshall was sneaking out of the house to spend time with Lily and they ate and ate to help Lily get into her dress. Ted tells them that it is great that after 10 years, they still couldn't spend a night apart. Older Ted – "Now, kids, the story about Aunt Lily and Uncle Marshall's wedding is a good one. No matter how perfectly you plan your… You know, wait a second, guys. I'm gonna get to that. First, I've got to tell you what happened with Barney. Barney is on The Price is Right and Bob Barker calls up Barney. He runs down the aisle and he thanks Bob, but accidentally says "Dad". Barney bids $1,350 for the watch and then won a camcorder. The games continue and Barney bids on a computer and shows Bob some home photos. When Barney is about to spin the big wheel, Bob calls him "son". Barney spins the wheel and he gets $1.00. Barney asks if Bob is proud of him, and Bob says yes. During the Showcase Showdown, Barney passes on the first showcase and then bids $18,421. The actual retail price of the showcase for the first one is under the bid the lady gave, but Barney gets the number right and wins both showcases. Barney congratulates Bob on 35 years on the show. Ted asks why he didn't tell him and Barney explains that he didn't think that Bob could have handled it. Barney gave Lily and Marshall the keys to the dune buggy that he won in the showcase.
With the camcorder that Barney gave them, Marshall makes the video of the "night-night" song for her to play during their two weeks apart. Marshall begins the song and then stops and asks Ted to join in with him when singing the "Sha-la-la-la" part.
