In this episode we learned that Lily's dad was not invited to her wedding. However, on "Something Borrowed" Lily claims that the reason why she had to give up the acoustic guitar player for a harp was that her father, knew a guy, whose daughter played the harp. Also, on "Moving Day",when Marshall suggest that they need to marry Ted as well as each other, Lily says "I can tell you right now, my father is not paying for that wedding", which suggests her father payed for their wedding.

Lily's "You're Dead To Me" Look, complete with her hair flying in the air and her eyes glowing, is a nod to Alyson Hannigan's previous role of Willow on Buffy, the Vampire Slayer. In Season 6, Willow had become quite adept at magic, and when her lover was murdered and she couldn't use her powers to bring the girl back to life, she went on a rampage, going after the man who shot her; As she wreaked havoc, her eyes and hair turned black.
