It was about time for Lily to take the spotlight, even if it was in her own quiet way. I liked how this episode wasn't expressly about her, that it managed to combine stories for each of the gang (as this show does so well most of the time) and still be something big for Lily. It didn't have to do with crazy girlfriends or the mother or any of that, but it did progress Lily's story and when we're so invested in all of the characters, that matters more than anything else. Good job, HIMYM. Granted, it was a little slow and they've used that plot of "no, this is how the story goes" a lot of times, but it worked for this episode.
