After Marshall witnesses a work buddy get yelled at after handing in a report, he becomes paranoid that the same will happen to him.
  • Scream.

An okay episode, with a concept that wasn't well developed, and the only way it was eventful is how Marshall quit his job, and well that Ted got a new car, but that doesn't really add to the storyline. This episode felt too rushed. All that happened was that Marshall's boss was screaming at him, and the whole gang decide to help him confront his boss, it doesn't end well, no thanks to Barney that gave him the advice of screaming, and he ends up quitting a high paying job. He tells Lilly, thinking that she would be upset, but she ends up being fine with it. It's not good to work at a place you're miserable at.This episode was too slow paced, and there were no quirk side plots to liven up this serious plot. I just simply didn't enjoy it as much.moreless

  • Marshall has a problem.

    "Perfect"
This episode was great again. Marshall is a lawyer now at last and starts his new job but his boss yells at everyone and now it is Marshall's turn to be yelled at. As Marshall has never been yelled at like that, He starts crying in front of his boss. SO he seeks ways to confront with his boss and asks advices from his friends. Barney was great again in this episode with his stories about a friend of him who became a legend by quitting. The scenes Robin, Ted and Lily acted like Marshall was so funny and 'Ninja Report' was a good choice. I hope How I met your Mother never ends and Barney continue finding new terms like 'Chain of screaming' no 'Circle of screaming' or 'The Pyramid of Screaming'moreless

When Marshall slips up at work and gets screamed at by his boss, he has a hard time facing the problem. The incident forces him (and the gang) to examine how to survive in a volatile workplace. Eventually, he must confront the real issue: Taking this job might have been a big mistake. And, Ted buys a new car to impress Stella but soon realizes how hard it is to keep clean with his friends around.thats.

  • Scream if you need to.

    7.5
    "Good"
I have to admit, I felt this episode was just okay. Not as funny as some, but funnier than a couple (they have had a couple of unfunny stinker episodes, but just a couple).

Marshall hears someone screaming at work, is subjected to it himself and the scenarios begin. All his friends offer suggestions as to how to deal with it and Marshall takes something of his own tack. We;ll see where it takes us as his career may slightly change direction. By the way,at the end Ted does the right thing.

Now that I think about it, it was funnie than i'm making it out to be. For me, this show overall is a better, funnier, more realistic version of Friends.moreless

    • Goof: At the very beginning of this episode, during Barney's line 'Ted this is New York City,' you can clearly see Lily's mouth move in time to the words right before cutting to Barney saying the line.

  • QUOTES (10)

    ADD QUOTES
    • Ted: Alright, everybody out of the new car! Out of the new car! Barney: Ted, screaming never solves anything!

    • Arthur Hobbs: Hey, Ferguson, I read your report, and it's complete crap. No, you know what, that's an insult to crap. If crap could eat, and then crap stuff out, it's that! Your report is the crap that crap craps!

    • Marshall: You sure about this? Ted: Yeah. Who needs a car in New York city anyway? Marshall: Ted, I don't think I can accept— Ted: Marshall, don't make me scream at you. Marshall: Thanks, buddy. Ted: You guys did it in the car, didn't you? Marshall: Oh, yeah.

    • Barney: Shotgun for eternity! Robin: You can't call shotgun for eternity! Barney: I just did! Robin: You can't just call things! Barney: I call that I can call things!

    • Ted: No smoking, it's against car rules! Barney: Oh, Ted, relax. It's Cuban. People pay to have their cars smell like this. Ted: Well, that's just not true.

    • Lily: Which one of these carpets would look better in the new apartment? I like the color of this one, but this one is so soft, it would feel great on your bare feet. Or your bare back, beads of eager sweat rolling down your trembling bosom... (starts rubbing the carpet sample on her face) Ted: Lily, didn't we just go through this with bathroom tiles?

    • Ted: (answers phone) Hello? Marshall: (high voice) It's me, pretend you're talking to Stella! Ted: Uh, hey Stella. How it's going? Marshall: Not good! Not good at all! Ted: Where are you? Marshall: I'm downstairs, come find me! Without Lily! Ted: Okay, I'll be right there. Marshall: Thanks. I love you. Ted: I love you, too. (hangs up) Lily: Wow, you and Stella are getting pretty serious. Ted: Apparently. Lily: You hitting that?

    • Barney: Dude, I can't believe you cried in front of your boss. Marshall: I don't know what happened. There is just something about been yelled like that, like I was being spurred by my dad, suddenly...suddenly I was a little boy. Robin: Is boy the right word?

    • Barney: The lesson of Blowman is that when your boss screams at you, you never scream back. That's why there is a little thing in corporate America I like to call "The Chain of Screaming". Marshall: The Chain of Screaming? Barney: Yes! The Chain of Screaming starts at the top: Arthur's boss' boss screams at Arthur's boss - Arthur's boss screams at Arthur – Arthur screams at you – you go home and scream at Lilly – Lilly screams at one of the kids in her kindergarten class – then that kid screams at her dad, Arthur's boss' boss. And the whole thing starts all over again, thus completing the Circle of Screaming. Ted: I thought is was A Chain of Screaming.

    • Ted: Come on. When's the last time you got screamed-at at work? Barney: I got screamed-at three times today, once in Korean. This is corporate America, Marshall. Screaming is motivational tool, like Christmas bonuses or sexual harassments. It's just good business.
