  • Ted gets the opportunity of a lifetime when he's faced with two women who are in love with him.

Ugh, I'm not digging Season 3 so far. Don't get me wrong, there were some good moments like the revealing of the belt for whoever "rode the tricycle" first and the ending when Ted chose not to tell Barney whether he did it or not. (Although it's pretty clear he did; It was also a nice blast to the beginning of the episode, when Future Ted tells his kids there's some stories he tells and some he doesn't) However, Robin wasn't involved with the rest of the gang in this episode and her storyline was boring. Note: Robin's first two boyfriends post-Ted are foreign: one from Argentina, the next, in this episode, from Britain. I didn't like Ted's change of personality around Trudy and Rachel and I don't find either of them appealing honestly. However, Busy Philipps provided a nice flashback to "Freaks and Geeks" the show robbed by NBC of a chance/Season 2. Meanwhile, Marshall and Lily talk about if each other die again, briefly, and that's about it. In my opinion, Season 3 has not gotten off to a good start, maybe Ted and Robin should just get back together...

"Third Wheel" is an awesome How I Met Your Mother episode. In this episode, Ted has the opportunity for a threesome. I love how he calls Barney for advice and he ends up getting advice from Lily and Marshall as well. I love how Ted is about to have a threesome when he goes into his room, the gang is there, and Barney makes this sob story about how he almost had a threesome but couldn't do it. I love Robin's plot of not shaving her legs and then she meets this guy she really likes, so she wants to shave her legs. I give this episode a 9/10.

It was pretty much about Taking a Chance Ted Had Two Beautiful Women that were Madly Attracted to Him and He couldn't step up to the Task of Sleeping with both of them Everytime He would try The Eagle WWF Championship Replica Belt that Barney had would Appear and he would mess up the Same Happened with Barney with Two Beautiful Women also

  • Best episode of the season so far.

This is a really funny and entertaining episode which drags you along.

Ted runs into the girl who escaped over the fire escape in the episode "Pinapple Incident". She and her friend tell him that their fantasy would be a threesome with some other guy, so Ted's getting nervous and asking Barney for help, who is playing Wii with Marshall.

In the meantime Robin's on a date with an obvious handsome guy in a restaurant. Her intention not to shave her legs lead her into trouble because she is really into him. When she finally manages to get hands on a shaver, she tries to shave herself in the ladies room but falls over.

All in all this has been a really great episode, I never been so excited about the whole storyline.

But (there's always a but) I was not really happy with the end (I so wished Ted would get the threesome), but I guess this is just typical for HIMYM.

As I said, best episode of the season so far.

The second season of How I met... continues to channel Ted's past life with a flash back to teen angst dramas past with a couple of guest stars who spark memories of past classics.

Ted reunites with a former one night stand in the person of Trudy portrayed by Danica McKellar best know for her role as Winnie Cooper in the coming of age drama "The Wonder Years". Adding to the fun is the appearance of Trudy's sorority sister, Rachel inthe person of Busy Philipps, who was Audry Lidell on "Joey Potter the college years" better known as Dawson Creek season five.

This series, which connects to "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" in the person of series regular Alyson Hannigan (Willow), is fighting the "second season blues" with the weekly appearance of familiar guest stars raising the interest at the expense of story line.

The battle for "The Belt" and Robin's adventure in the restaurant ladies room with a razor and no shaving cream filled the rest of this half hour with physical comedy at the expense of a solid script and story line continuity.

Still, I watch and will continue to watch this series.
  • continuity anyone?

The problem I have with this episode is the return of Trudy. In The Pineapple Incident, at the end after Trudy has climbed down the fire escape, Ted says that he tried to call her but she never answered and he never saw her again. But in this episode, he says he wanted to call but was too embarrassed. And obviously, he sees her again. I realize it's difficult to maintain continuity when a story is being told over several seasons, but this was a little too much. It would have been better if they had tried to at least explain why he said one thing in The Pineapple Incident, and the complete opposite in this episode.
  • Ted runs into an old friend, with a new friend, and they all decide to ride the tricycle together. Robin goes on a date, and makes a last minute decision to shave her legs. Lily helps both, while Barney and Marshall offer help with the tricycle situation.

I think what made this episode was that Barney had a Wrestling Championship belt for the tricycle.

It was fun to see Danica McKellar back, I was always almost hoping that she was the mother, but I feel like after last night there is no way that will happen.

I have to say I liked how this episode went, separating Robin from the gang, her dating strategy was so funny, and very true I feel. When she changed her mind and needed to use butter in the bathroom to shave her legs after schelling out $50 for a razor from the waitress, who eventually went home with her date, it was just priceless.

The tricycle story was great. Ted talking to his beers, and how he kept saying my apartment upstairs, but then when Bareny tried to sabotage everything by breaking the cd and retelling his tricycle story and how he sabotaged it because of the belt.

Also the British Tennis that Marshall and Barney were playing on the Wii was hilarious. I may have to adopt that one.

There was one thing I noticed, there was no mention of the slap countdown.
  • The gang helps Ted ride the tricycle, while Robin needs a shave...

This episode is a great example of how we do not need to rush the plot (how Ted met the mother) in order to enjoy the show. Bringing back Trudy was a wonderful idea, playing around with the idea that we may have already seen the mother in question. Her identity is not an issue in this episode and we have fun in the story of "the belt" and "riding the tricycle." This gang is so close that they help Ted out. However, Barney is a little jealous, and Lily realizes that the blond was the woman that made her "list." Meanwhile, Robin has a story of her own with her date. Just because she isn't part of the crowd or Ted's girlfriend, or even if she isn't the one, it doesn't mean she isn't entertaining to watch. Get it? Confused? Oh well, it's a great installment.

Still one of my favorite comedies on television definately worth watching. Patrick Neal Harris is still one of the main reasons why I watch this show even though the storyline and plot gets progressingly better each week. I do wish we knew more about "the mother" by now, but still a good episode. At least we know "the mother" is in Newyork, or so it is assumed, so that must mean that she shows up soon being the possibility that she's not from Newyork or that general area. If she lives in Newyork it still could be a long time before we find anymore out. Oh right we also know Ted and "the mother" meet after it stops raining.
  • Threesome.

A definite step up from the last episodes, it seems like this show is going back to the norm. I love the beginning: "You just made the list b!tch!" Haha, hilarious. In this episode, Trudy returns from the Pineapple Incident, and she runs in to Ted, she also meets up with a friend. Ted things he may have a chance at a threesome, and Barney, Lilly & Marshall help him out through the whole thing. Barney even shares his own experience on a threesome, the one he never had because apparently "fear" took over. The whole plot was hilarious. The thing that was weird about this episode is that Ted doesn't even say if he had a threesome or not. He says it's better left untold. Which kind of brought the episode down since we don't know if he did anything. Robin somehow seems separate from the group now since she goes on a date with a guy and doesn't shave her legs and tries to shave her legs at the restaurant. Her plot was also funny, but it was so separate from the group. A great episode, and way better than the last 2 episodes this season. It was nice to see Trudy again also. Great funny episode with a mysterious ending.

Good Episode. When I saw Trudy i Was like OHMYGOOSh that's the pineapple girl!! The Wii tennis was my favorite part! lol. I want the freedom only underwear can provide.I liked Barney's speech in the bedroom. Don't you think they would have heard the voices from the bedroom though?? That's what I don't understand. I wonder if we willl ever find out if Ted did ride the tricycle... It's episodes like these that make me want to keep watching. This is a great show and I hope it continues this way!! Great acting, Great Writing. One of the best and funniest shows ever!

Absdolute funny episode, I can't believe that Barney and Marshall would rather play Wii than go out carousing with Ted. Then them hiding in the bedroom while ted has Trudya nd her sorority sister in the other room was out of this world. I have always enjoyed this series but his episode just had me in stitches Great job to the writers and cast for a job well done. It had me wondering ok what's going to happen next. And Rachael not shaving her legs, fighting with the waitress, knocking herself out and losing her date to the waitress OMG I couldn't stop laughing.
  • Riding the Tricycle

    9.3
    "Superb"
This is another episode that has nothing to do with the plot but that's ok, because this episode feels as though things are starting to gain momentum again. And it doesn't disapoint it's really funny.

The subplot with Robin I thought was a little weak but funny all the same, so I can't complain much. I thought it was just funny when she was having a crisis with her legs during her date with a guy she really likes and so asks a watress who isn't all that nice to Robin for her help. The watress of course help her if not completely when her buys her the clever but not the cream. Robin of course then tries to shave her legs using butter but loses her balance and gets knocked out. The funnest thing for me in that subplot was the watress herself even though it was a matter of moments she really stole the show in that subplot and of course got Robin's boyfriend in the end.

But enough with the subplot, this is the jist of the matter that really drove the episode. Ted has the opportunity of a life time when she meets up again with Trudy (Danica McKellar) from the Pineapple Insident episode along with a best friend of her's. Both have a fantasy of riding the tricycle (a threesome) with a guy, and yeah Ted is that man.

I'll admit I laughed a lot in this plot from the little thing with Ted and Marchall getting a Wii and then we see Barney and Marchall are playing tennis, obviously Barney is winning and Marchall we see is huffing and puffing.

But it was mainly when the pursuit to riding the tricycle began and it's almost formated like a boxing match, where we see Ted constantly going to his dates then going into his room where his friends were hiding at the last minute and asking them for advice. It was as usual listening and seeing Barney's antics, from his story about the authentic WWF belt as a trophy for the tricycle ride, how he is trying to sabatosh Ted's efforts, but also how he failed to ride it. And we see Barney actually helps Ted out a bit as he made the realization that Ted is the one to win the belt.

The other great thing about the episode is the fact that Danica McKellar is back on the show, shame she couldn't be a new character for a while I can't help but feel her character could of been a clue in to the identity of the mother, heck may'be she is the mother and we don't know it. But never mind.

The ending is something that will in debate for years, "Did Ted ride or not ride the Tricycle?" the answer is anyones guess, personally I'd like to think he did but that's just me, you decide.
  • Ted suits up, but Barney and MArshall are too busy playing the Wii to go out. Robin goes on a date without shaving. Ted runs into Trudy and one of her sorority sisters. Ted has a chance to win the belt, and ride the tricylce. Space suit up!

Well I don't know if I was grouchy or what but I'm going to be really tough on this episode. I LOVE HIMYM, but this season is missing something. This is supposed to be a comedy with heart and I haven't felt much heart. I have laughed, and there have been great moments, but overall it's been lackluster. This episode felt slow, and like it used the same joke over and over. Robins' date scenes just were a distraction and bad. What is happening to this great show? Honestly part of my problem deals with Ted giving up his search for the one and looking for random hook-ups. I don't think that's Ted. Anyways the small cherry, on top of the cherry, of the sundae that was this bad episode was the fact that they never revealed if Ted won the belt. So what was the point for telling this story?
