  • Marshall and Lily have these tradition where one of them leaves for a trip and they come back with a case of beer, while the other one has to show up and pick them up.

"Three Days of Snow" is an awesome How I Met Your Mother episode. It is so cute that Lily and Marshall has this tradition where one of them leaves on a trip and they come back with a case of beer. I love how Lily and Marshall were going to stop the tradition, but Marshall decides to rush to airport with Robin so he can pick Lily up anyways. I love how Lily was running out of time to get beer. I love how Marshall gets there and finds out that Lily's flight was cancelled. Ted and Marshall looking after the bar when Carl is away was an awesome subplot. I give this episode a 9.5/10.

  • Enjoyable, with a nice twist by the end.

An amazing episode, that was definitely surprising by the end. There is a three day blizzard in New York, and series of events occur to the group while this happens. Barney & Ted are left alone with a bar, something they've always dreamed of, so they invite two hot girls and their band, only to find out: It was a marching band, so everyone comes to the bar, when going gets tough, Ted & Barney feel the need to make a last call, but they swore no last calls. So they brought the band to drink at their place. It was great concept that every guy says this in their life: "We should buy a bar!". Marshall & Robin get snowed in after trying to get Lilly at the airport when he realizes that Lilly may want Marshall to be there to pick her up regardless of what she said to him about not picking her up. Another episode that brought Marshall/Robin interaction, I'm beginning to really like them together. Marshall thinks Robin hit on him, hilarious. It was the nice moment we saw in the "Little Minnesota" episode, that they shared here, except Robin was the one giving the pep talk. Meanwhile Lilly forgets the beer that she was supposed to get Marshall, so when her plane arrives early, she rushes with Ranjit to get the six-pack, only to get a keg, and when she rushes to New York, Marshall is nowhere to be found. When Marshall & Robin make it to the airport, Lilly is nowhere to be found. Future Ted explains: It was a three day storm. Lilly had to stay another two days. So Marshall was two days early, and Lilly's beer hunt was two days later, while the bar scene was in between the two days. You think Marshall just didn't show up to pick up Lilly. But then the marching band plays, they share a kiss, one of the best Marshall/Lilly moment in my opinion, and the episode ends. Amazing episode. I really enjoyed it.

When a snowstorm hits the city before Lily returns from a teacher's conference in Seattle, Marshall and Lily agree to forego they're longstanding airport reunion ritual. But when they each start to worry that letting another ritual retire means that their relationship is losing its magic, Marshall enlists Robin's help to get to the airport in time while Lily tries to pick-up a Seattle souvenir for Marshall, all in the middle of a blizzard. Meanwhile, Ted and Barney are meeting two women at MacLaren's, so when Carl threatens to close up because of the storm, they offer to watch over the bar until the women show up. After having fun tending the bar, things get out of control when the girls arrive with their thirsty band-mates.

This is perhaps my favorite episode of the entire series. It is cheesy and corny in the best type of way and it really show cases the relationship that Marshall and Lily have. The thing with the different beers is so typical of them and it was done in such a cute way and the scene at the end where she doesn't think he has come after all the effort she had to go through in order to bring the keg with the hilarious cab driver it is one of those really great moments. Barney is also great in this episode with the college girls and convincing Ted to go along with yet another one of his crazy plans. Overall a really sweet episode that was full of laughs.

A lot can occur only to lead up to one moment in time. This is another good episode that's once again centered on Lily and Marchall.

One of the interesting things about the episode is simply how it was formated. We see all three stories happening at what we assume is at the same time and day. But that't the gag because all of them are in actuality taking place in different times and days, hence the title Three days of Snow. It's like were given a math equashion but it all adds up to something in the end.

The suplot with both Barney and Ted running a bar was good . Their was a little homage to the Tom Cruse film "Coctail" with that soundtrack playing and all the fancy bar moves both which resulted in disaster. Really liked the part before they get the bar we see Barney repeatedly keeps pulling Ted back when he saw he was making a mistake in asking the two Collage Arazona band girls out. Both though discover it's not all fun and games when they've invited the whole collage band so it's stressful. And just when the whole thing goes bust and see they've made the band unhappy let alone won't get any play with any of the girls they do the next best thing which is throw a party at their house and all are invited; and this of course is a plot device for latter.

Marchall and Lilly we see are both having a fear that their losing their magic due to the fact their love rituals with one another are growing fewer and if they fail to do this one they could lose it forever. Robin though we see thinks their stupid, yeah it's true that they seem stupid and sappy but most people in a long time relationship have done those little things. Marchall also right about Robin she hasn't been in a relationship long enough, and her robot impression does suck. It's actually normal that love rituals growing fewer do happen, it usually means you've gotten use to your significant other after being with him or her for some amount of time. But love isn't forever, we do need a reminder at least once in a while that our significant other loves us and that we love them back. And of course in the end both get their pay off by keeping with one tradition that tell each other in a small but big way they love each other.
  • Three stories in the three days of snow. Barney and Ted run the bar, Lily needs to find beer for a tradition while Marshall gets the help of Robin to keep a love ritual with Lily going.

This ep is a really a very solid ep and is one of the best of the season. Without being perfect it manages to deliver some good laughs all the while keeping the characters interesting and fresh even 4 seasons in.

This week New York is hit with a Blizzard that lasts 3 days and has an impact on all the characters. This ep is structured so that you are sure that all the stories are happening all at once but infact they are spread over the three days. This brings a great dynamic to the ep and makes things all the more interesting coming to the end of the ep.

Barney and Ted's story lead them trying to hook up with a couple of Arizona college students. They do this by setting up a date at the bar but when the blizzard hits their plans take an interesting turn when they are given the keys to the bar. They finally get the feeling of running a bar and they meet some interesting problems along the way that are very funny. There dibs bit is particularly good.

Meanwhile Marshall decides that Lily and him need to lose most of their love traditions. One particular one that made me giggle incessently was the lunch "I love you" call when Marshall is in his office with a troop of lawyers. But Robin insists that one tradition will be kept, every time Lily or Marshall go on atrip they bring back the other a 6-pack of locally brewed beer with the other being at the airport dressed as a chaufeur. Marshall realizes this and quickly tries to rush to the airport.

Lily realizes that Marshall will most likely be there but she doesn't have the beer. When she finds out that the plane will be in New York early she takes the opportunity to find a bottleshop that has some Seattle homebrew. Ranjeet the trusty Limo driver gets her to the shop in time and back to the airport before Marshall arrives. But since that the ep pans out over three days you can't be sure that Marshall is even there!

All in all this was a really good ep that mixes things up a little to keep fans interested. All the same I would like to see Ted get off his butt and actually find the women who will be his future wife. For the sake of the show having some direction.
  • Sweet surprise at the end

I thought this was a good episode, even though it's basically a filler. It was funny to watch Ted and Barney play at "Cocktail," but I was disappointed there was no Barney/Robin, especially after last week's hilarity. I love Barney and his antics, but I think he'd be just as funny with a little less of the womanizing. Plus, it's not all that consistent with last week's episode, although with this week's references to New Year's I can't help but wonder if they were aired out of sequence. At any rate, although I enjoyed the episode, it was the scene at the airport when Marshall surprised Lily with the marching band that was my favorite part. I was so convinced he really didn't go, and it was such a sweet scene I couldn't help but love it! Kudos to the writers for doing a great job, especially with filler.

The return of Ranjit! It's about time.

Surprisingly I actually found myself laughing at this episode a lot more than usual. The twist at the end with the events taking place over the course of three days was completely unnecessary and is the reason this show often bothers me. They try too hard to be innovative instead of realizing that a simple, basic format is often better. But aside from that and the lame recurring bad beer gag, this was a humorous installment. I even laughed at Ted's "snow problem" line, but it was Barney who stole the show, as usual. His pickup lines and just general demeanor is one of the few bright spots of the fourth season.

I also realized from this episode that Robin and Marshall have zero chemistry whatsoever. Their scenes were really awkward and I hope that they don't have them alone together much more in the future.
