Music:
"How to Fight Loneliness" - Wilco (heard at the very end when Ted and Robin are sitting in the park)
The wine bottle Ted holds and announces as being some Cotes du Rhône is rather a Bordeaux bottle : design of the bottles are really different and can't be mistaken.
Robin does her own version of the Playbook
It can be argued at the end when Robin strips off in sexy Lingerie, this is a variant of "the naked man." But was obviously censored due to tv
Barney mentions websites that sell his "BroBibs". There is an actual Brobibs.com website showing the many "styles" of BroBibs you can buy. You can pull up Dudeaprons.com where it lists facts like "Brobibs is made by a company outsourced by Bain Capital in 1995." Bain Capital was associated with 2012 presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
In Lily's 1994 flashback, Scooter says his name is Jeff, however, in the episodeSomething Borrowed from season 2, we learned his name is Bill.
On the Doctor X video diary where we discover the true origin on the name "Doctor X", one of the otherguys in Ted's dorm room is excitedly holding a large sandwich.
"Eating a sandwich" has been code for smoking weed throughout Ted's story.
Goof: Robin knows her Aunt is a lesbian. When she talked about taking her dogs to her Aunt's farm upstate (Season 2 Episode 16 Stuff)she said, "It's just her and her partner Betty. They are getting pretty lonely." And when Lily was like, "Oh they love dogs?"Robin responds, "They? What do you mean by they?" And Lily realizing she's making an ackward generalization about lesbians says, "Ummm people who live upstate."
On this episode, Marshall's brother Marcus is seem married and dad of two school-aged kids, that he abandoned to work at a Tiki Bar. Less than a year ago, on Season 7's episode "Tailgate", Marshall clearly states that his brother was unemployed and living with his mom.
After almost getting hit by a car, Lily starts overreacting and says: "Death is all around us". The same type of reaction is seen on Marshall, when his health insurance ran out on Season 7's episode: "Disaster Adverted".
At the end of the episode, Marshall and Lily made Ted, Robin, and Barney godparents. Except a child is only supposed to have two godparents.
Robin didn't go to Brazil, actually she went to Argentina (Buenos Aires), at the end of season two
The final song played while Ted is at Farmhampton is "The Funeral" by "Band of Horses".
The song playing at the end of the episode was "The Wind" by Cat Stevens.
On the last scene of this episode Marshall is seen smoking a cigarette, as Lily is in labor. In Season's 5 "Last Cigarette Ever" there is a reference which states that Marshall's real last cigarette ever was the day his son was born.
The shot of Robin as a guest on The Late Show with David Letterman was a shot of a real episode when Cobie Smulders was a guest.
The Puzzles website is real and can be accessed at www.puzzlesthebar.com
Ted and Barney call their baby Hurricane. In "Disaster Averted," Ted mentions to Marshall how cool the name Hurricane would be for his and Lily's child.
We can see Nora's parents in the episode 'Change of Heart' in season 6 and clearly they use different people to play their role in this episode.
Barney tells Ted his training is complete when he picks the hot girl over him. However this is a violation of his Bro Code: Article #1 - Bros before Hos. Historically, Ted has always upheld the Bro Code, but this action is in violation of it.
In the episode 'Twin Beds' (season 5) we learned that Lilly doesn't let Marshall eat on the bed. However in this episode, it shows that Lilly herself enjoys a midnight snack on the bed.
